Villareal has four or five players out, but Riquelme is still playing. I say 1-2 (Deco and Xavi), but I'll be happy with a 0-1 :)

    Villarreal v Barcelona: Preview
    PA
Primera Liga leaders Barcelona will travel to Villarreal with Brazilian striker Ronaldinho convinced that this year will bring plenty of success for the club.

The signs are good for Frank Rijkaard's side after they finished 2004 with a 10-point lead at the top of the table despite a catalogue of injuries

And Ronaldinho believes that it has been a team effort which has helped Barca to their current position in the championship.

"I am confident and I have a lot of belief in myself and my team-mates. This is going to be Barca's year and so my year as well, I think that we can win two trophies," he said.

"So far this season I have not been 100% although I have tried to do my best. I have never felt questioned about my performances and I have always had a lot of support and I aim to repay this.

"I have been glad to play alongside Deco and (Samuel) Eto'o. I would not say that it is a case of them taking some of the workload off me but it is nice to play alongside such talented footballers.

"We all get on well together in the dressing room and are completely united which is important for the team to be successful and that is what we want - to make history.

"I learn from all the players, for example (Carles) Puyol for his leadership and his battling spirit, Deco for his quality and ability to give an equilibrium to the team, and Eto'o with his incredible pace.

"I also think the fitness of (Juliano) Belletti is tremendous as he keeps running the same after 90 minutes as he was when the game started.

"As for me, I think that I am a young player that can improve and is playing well at the moment," Ronaldinho added.

Despite their lengthy injury list, the club now seem prepared to continue with the side they have until the end of the season unless the right player emerges.

Speculation has been rife that the azulgrana will bring in a defensive midfielder and a centre-forward in order to take pressure off the weakened squad, but with the team so far not appearing to buckle under the strain, the club now feels that it can be more relaxed about reinforcements.

Tottenham's Frederic Kanoute is the latest player to be linked with Barca, but the view that the club can cope without new signings is backed by the fact the treatment room is beginning to ease with Ludovic Giuly, Gerard Lopez and Albert Jorquera close to full fitness and in contention to play against Villarreal.

Meanwhile, Villarreal coach Manuel Pellegrini has also seen his injury fears subside and will be able to count on four players who have been a doubt this week.

Pepe Reina, Armano Sa and Santi Cazorla have all recovered from flu while Javi Venta is fit after a back injury.

barcelona still not getting into the game. they need to keep it a 1 goal game and get into it by the 55th min for a chance to win imo.

Forlan crushed that ball past Valdes. We look in a daze out there. Villerreal is coming full force and they look like they believe they can pull the upset.

It was as clear an offside as you'll ever see in a football match. Absolutely no doubt about it. We are playing like utter crap, but that doesn't mean rules go out the window. And Valdes should have saved it.

Talk about stinkin up the pitch! Villerreal look so confident and Barca look flat. Maybe too much fun over the winter break??? This might be the kind of loss that Barca need to win the title.
