i mean james has everton top of the table roaming around doing whatever he wants. the league contains multitudes and the best of it tends not to be english.
Yeah most teams seem to be looking for it. James R. Havertz. B Fernandes. Silvas when both at man city and de bruyne. Dani ceballos. Not making exact player comparisons here but those are all in England and aren’t run fast kick hard.
I too am not a big Madrid fan. I would say that Madrid is not a club you go for development. They are the galácticos. They are supposed to be the best of the best. There is an argument that landing at Madrid is harder than any other club.
I think Reyna has the talent to play like De Bruyne one day, and I think De Bruyne when fit is the best player in the world.
I love these and never saw this one. Gio makes us proud and asserts the US as the dominant english-speaking footballing country.
The reason why I point to City and Madrid has everything to do with style, roster composition, and just overall fit. If he progresses the way I think he will he skips that interim move to a team like Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal, etc and go straight to one of the big boys that farms from those teams--->which limits us to a small handful of clubs. See think of world football where there are a handful of clubs that most players move to when they are 24-27. Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Man City, PSG, Barce, Juventus, etc. Now don't get me wrong, these clubs will buy young players. But the idea is that they become the core of their club. If this doesn't happen they bail on them and replace them usually with a 24-27 year old. Pulisic wasn't deemed good enough to be bought by one of those clubs. Even a club like say Liverpool probably wouldn't have been able to have Pulisic past say the age of 24/25 if he played to his upmost potential. Gio is showing enough to be bought by one of those clubs that is a final destination club at a young age. ^^^Hence why I expect City to be in for him. As to Madrid? They are the Spanish club that spends freely. Barcelona could be interested, but they would have to LOVE him for their system, etc. Madrid? They could buy him just because he seems like a marketable, global superstar that plays a style that feels more Madrid than Barcelona. And it is entirely possible that a club that buys Haaland does try and buy Reyna at the same time or some time after. Just depends on how their relationship translates over to the Champions League/winning a title. Obviously a bit pie in the sky but I'm big picture thinkng here.
Yea man I've had similar thoughts. In the past its reminded me of the time when Kevin De Bruyne was once asked to pick his World 5v5 team. I'm forgetting a couple names, but it was obviously Messi, Neymar, and maybe surprisingly, Mousa Dembélé. Dembélé's attribute of note being that in those kind of time/space constraints, he was reportedly impossible to dispossess. I don't see how you stop someone like Reyna from dictating the game at will in that type of setting. He's too smart, with too much ball control and too much body control to handle. You press him individually and he's a few steps ahead, then your whole team is punished.
Dembele could fend off an army of Mack trucks, and glide through defenses like they weren’t even there. Reyna already does it well, but if he can develop Dembele’s level of strength and balance and maintain his attacking instincts, he’ll be the most dangerous player in the world.

Pulisic on TV, Reyna on computer If you can only do one at a time, Reyna first half, Pulisic second half.
My choice comes down to ESPN having a better streaming experience than the Peacock. So I watch Pulisic live and then watch the Reyna replay.
Even if Reus did start, it shouldn't be Reyna on the bench. I'm looking at you, disinterested husk of the player who used to Sancho.
Reus isn't going to be playing twice in a week at this pt in his career. But they could & hypothetically would start both at this pt in a game they needed to win. Probably Reus CAM & Reyna wing. I think Reyna starting was solidified from the midweek game where Reyna was good while Reus & Brandt struggled. That is if it needed to be firmed up.
Reyna isn't keeping Reus on the bench. If Favre chooses to start Reus...Reyna needs to play too. He has been BVB's most effective player this season so far.
Not the best game today. Forced the issue too much against an inferior opponent. Wasn't patient. On the bright side, he showed more ability to take on opponents on the perimeter in the final 3rd. I think part of the reason he doesn't do it more is instruction or greenness. But he did it too much & all over the field, leading to plenty of giveaways or momentum lost for the BVB attack. Didn't know when to turn off the aggression. Closest he came to producing a stat was a long shot that may have been ticketed for the far corner, but it was headed out halfway thru. Expected a goal and/or assist beforehand, considering the vulnerability of Schalke.
