Agree, but pretty much every corner has similar (or more) fouling, and I doubt the FA wants to open that can of worms to review every corner kick...yet. But stupider decisions have already happened.
i mean, i dig that there are bound to be contact on corners and you cannot call everything (or you would never have an actual game) but, like, dude's short was about to fall off. like, no difference than when cash dragged barnes to the ground by his shorts earlier in the same game.
Any time New Zealand and South Africa play, you are going to get a smashing match. While I hated they were in the pool stage together, it actually worked well for South Africa. England peaked too early which is why they beat Ne Zealand. Sunday's game against the Aussies was fantastic.
It's amazing how often the Aussies convince themselves they are better than us, only to get smashed again
Not too long ago you couldn't watch the women's game anywhere. They BBC then started putting on the FA cup final. More recently, they have started showing some league matches and had botth last season's FA cup semis and final on. I scoured the TV channels yesterday looking for this match, but no, it's on BT Sports which you have to pay for. Way to kill a sport when it's just getting going.
Don't count your chickens etc. I will never understand why football fans film themselves during games. But on occasions like today, I am so glad some do. pic.twitter.com/dYn1yjy72J— Ben Winston (@benwinston) October 18, 2020
I obviously feel terrible for VVD but man the gnashing of teeth and wailing of souls about the rules and so forth made me so annoyed. Where was this outcry for Rambo, Eduardo and Diaby? SMH
Lest I'm mistaken there were fouls called for the acts that injured those players, whereas nothing was levied against Pickford.
Those players bones were just weak and the tackles halfway up their shins were perfectly fine good old fashioned English tackles you have to get stuck into arsenal you see
I feel 0% bad for Van Djik and Liverpool Biased United and Liverpool media crying about makes it actually funny to me
I read this F365 article when I started my morning. Seems suitable to this conversation here as it discusses key injuries that changed the outcome of a season. Eduardo and Cazorla (on two different campaigns) feature on this list. It's hard to deny the impact of the Eduardo injury. I watched that game live (on TV), still haunts. Most haunting overall is Diaby's screams when he got his ankle done against Sunderland.
Eduardo’s had a bigger domino effect. Showed that teams could bully and hurt us, AGAIN, with no protection from the refs. Made Gallas have a meltdown, which had to cause a rift in the dressing room, seeing your captain explode like that. Cazorla hurt us, but mostly because we didn’t have a single player at the time that could make up for any of his game in midfield. We become completely disjointed. I remember around those Eduardo’s years, United got roughed up ONE game in the league and Ferguson started fuming to all media outlets that there needed to be more protection for stars. So laughable coming from him and his teams.
I would say they are the Tottenh*m of rugby, but unlike sp*rs, the Aussies have actually won a major trophy and it was in color too.
Aussies and rugby is basically us trying to convince ourselves we are a good team so we watch it, despite knowing we are a distant 4th and going to get pummeled by SA, ENG and NZ. Actual Aussies know we are shit, and have been since the 90s.
The protection from the refs is actually the key driver. If you have a bunch of highly creative, skilled, expensive players, and the other team can just hack, foul and injure your guys - there is no real way around that. Of course you could start hacking and fouling as well but then you already lost the psychological battle.
Remember he went one and half seasons with no adverse red card / pen decision given against him. Winning mentality!
heh. An absolute disgrace that we haven’t registered Mikel https://t.co/OfAwlXUODr— gunnerblog (@gunnerblog) October 20, 2020
