Perhaps in a non-starting capacity, given the quick turnaround and Favre's professed desire not to burn Gio out. That would be fine by me, as it'd give him a chance to run roughshod over hapless Schalke next Satuday.
Anyway . . . agree he was played out of position, but I also think that Reyna should be able (one day) to play the false 9. Days like this will help with that progression.
I assume it will open up some space in a crowded lineup then as I'd have to guess he'll be doing much of his sulking from the bench.
Is it actually true the player gets a cut of transfer fee? Can you send me some information on that? I was fairly certain agent takes their cut but player only gets the wages.
It's almost like.... GASP.... a manager did a slight rotation before a Champions League match and wanted to try Gio out at a position that injury might press him into service into... like the club is developing him or something
Hey bud please don’t post about other games in the thread so we don’t get them ruined if we are watching them later tyty
You were just posting about Bremen here - this is not the thread for either PBP or Bremen. This is YA
I've said it before, but I'm almost (almost) nostalgic for the days getting excited to watch Joe-Max Moore, early in his Everton tenure.
Between watching and commentating, always choose watching, unless you're getting paid to write about the game in real time.
I watched the game too and I agree with this guy. Reyna was the best out of the trio of him Brandt and Sancho. I counted a bunch of shot creating actions, 3 or so key passes a shot that cleared off the line and the key goal creating action when he flicked on the Haaland. He also drew 3 or 4 fouls and won the ball off the opp a bunch in 50/50s. Not his best game, and Can was MOTMbut he was better than almost every other attacker. If you want to pick on someone Dahoud was utter garbage.
He was clearly the best of the three and despite the announcers totally ignoring it.... his perfect flick-on set up the goal. It boggles my mind how a play like that can go down and the player that flicks the ball on gets absolutely zero credit from the announcers.?.? This kid is something special. At least the producer had his stats posted.
It does happen, but it's not standard. It all depends on the contract the player has with the selling club and how much leverage he has at the time. Signing-on fees are the norm and they tend to mirror the player's wages, which closely track transfer fees (the rule of thumb is the wages equal the transfer fee, spread over the life of the contract).
In other news here is some video on Moussokos hat trick today. If this kid really is 16 wow, if the kid is not 16 it is still super impressive. Looks a counter attacking maestro, great on the break, crazy accurate from distance and impressive set of skills. Pretty obviously the reason that they left the back up striker position open. 1317825825253826564 is not a valid tweet id
dortmund probably has the best attacking firepower in Europe i remember hearing rumors of ADu being older than what he knows so who knows exactly. Dude could be 20 but so much $$$ involved so no one would ever talk
Yeah there is some smoke on this one (gfs age, parents age, etc) but I don’t know if that means there is fire. Could just be a super developed kid, regardless he is ridiculously talented. However it doesn’t really matter once he steps out there, so let’s see how he does against the speed and physicality of the top level. A lot of those skills seems directly translatable regardless of the physicality (distance striking, comfort on the ball, composure in front of goals), but we’ll see if the physicalIty difference dulls any of his dominance in the other categories. Dortmund is very exciting rn. Reminds me of the late Tuchel era (Dembele, Pulisic, Mor, Auba, Reus, etc) before it all fell apart under Bosz and Stoeger.
