Sancho left out of the last two match squads for BVB. Zorc says it is because he's ill. He's probably sick of their shit. I'm absolutely want the club to just pay the damn fee and get it over the line, but I completely understand not wanting to pay 120M for a BVB player and a kid who although immensely talented, has proven nothing outside of that league.
#mufc are in discussions with Edinson Cavani about a move and are actively working on an agreement #mulive [@RobDawsonESPN]— utdreport (@utdreport) October 3, 2020 Manchester United are in talks with Edinson Cavani agents. He wants a long term deal + more than €10m/season as wages + huge agents fee. Cavani has been offered to #MUFC by days as also to other clubs - Benfica and Atlético deals months ago collapsed because of agents fee. 🔴— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) October 3, 2020 NO, just,no!
I just don't see how it's a huge risk, especially considering some of the business we have done over the last 7 years.
Our business over the past 7 years has been terrible and only now are we fixing it with Bruno and DvB. Why would you want to continue that? I still think we get Sancho. BvB will get to blame Sancho for forcing a move out, and we will "save" 10m in easily achievable bonuses and both clubs get to save face; and easily baited fans will claim victory. Hard pass on Cavani unless it is a 1+1 deal with no agent fees and 150k wages. Cavani will be a repeat of our terrible business from the past 7 years.
🔴🔴 Edinson Cavani will sign a two-year contract with #mufc tomorrow. He will travel to Manchester on the Night and medicals tomorrow. Contract until june 2022. He will play against #PSG october 20.— Mohamed Bouhafsi (@mohamedbouhafsi) October 3, 2020
To me signing someone like Sancho isn't doing that. Just the very nature of his signing and the apparent price on hand. At 120m he feels like a steal, especially when you consider all the other factors with him. His age, he's English, he actually doesn't hate Manchester. Also in the realms of "fixing" the situation, how can Cavani be the answer, outside of a deal like you suggested. Though the quotes I have seen said a decent length deal, at 10m euros a year. So....
He's not Zlatan. i hope he does well, but this seems so odd, especially with how we are trying to play. If we really is on decent wages, how does he not start?
Amazing how Bruno fixed your midfield so immediately despite everything being Pogbas fault for years according to pundit land
The Cavani signing would be a disaster. It would be us falling back into the same trap that broke our wage structure in the first place. Not to mention he's a guy thats struggled with injuries lately. It's going to be fun having a guy that's a depth piece being top 3 at the club in terms of wages.
We'll need to see the particulars of the deal but if we've accepted the terms Romano suggested, then you really have to wonder about the wisdom of it. Especially when we've made a big show of things being different and have finally managed to get rid of the albatross around our neck that Sanchez was. Cavani is a decent player but he's getting up there in age and he's still very injury prone. As a backup option, he could be fine particularly with Ighalo leaving in Jan. He should push Martial, which could be a good thing . Provides Ole with some options but let's hope he does not push Martial out of the starting CF spot (unless it becomes actually needed). Better get Sancho still though...
Cavani is Falcao 2.0. He's a past it, big name that has been offering himself around Europe for months with no takers and he finally found a club dumb enough to bite...and we're that club. Being reported by Stoney now too. So this is happening. ******** every time I think we've hit the lowest we can in terms of bad decisions we outdo ourselves. We're the worst run club in Europe.
More details about Edinson Cavani > Manchester Utd 🔴🇺🇾- Cavani and his agents will be in UK tomorrow to complete the agreement on agents fee [€10m asked].- Personal terms ok until June 2022.- ‘Here we go’ expected tomorrow to finalize agreement > complete medicals. #MUFC https://t.co/nKWh2976iM— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) October 3, 2020 So we're paying 10mil in agent fees on a free agent, yet we're quibbling on a few millions over Telles and Sancho. Alright then... Edit: His wages are said to be very high also (200k/wk -Ps- according to Jim White).
Classic Glazer / Woodward move - dodge the big investments (keep net spending low to maintain dividends) and pay a has-been name a big salary to keep the mainstream fans happy. Am told the wages #MUFC are paying Cavani are jaw-dropping. No doubting he has been an elite striker but not convinced chucking money at a 33-year-old is the blueprint Solskjaer has been promoting. And if he was always part of the plan why wait until the final days of the window?— Alex Crook ⚽️🎙 (@alex_crook) October 3, 2020
We are totally fixing our wage structure and how we pay for players. Which is why we are spending 30m+ on Cavani, and apparently won't pay Dortmund a reasonable sum for a 20 year old. I don't understand the idea that people think it's the media that are the issue with United transfers. That United fans just buy into all the BS. We produce actual BS that is the legitimate issue. Prime example right here.
Edinson Cavani will earn £200,000-a-week plus at #mufc #mulive [@JimWhite]— utdreport (@utdreport) October 3, 2020 Whatever Manchester United’s transfer strategy was this summer, it didn’t involve signing a 33-year-old free agent at the last minute #Cavani— Kaveh Solhekol (@SkyKaveh) October 3, 2020 What you get when there no real plan and you have bankers/accountants making football decisions as opposed to actual football people.
Likely to be a one-year deal with the option of a second. Still big wages but free agent so regarded as low risk by United. Need a striker to replace Ighalo when loan ends in January. Hopeful he can have similar impact to Ibrahimovic, who was also 30+ when he joined. https://t.co/iATC2rkhuy— Rob Dawson (@RobDawsonESPN) October 3, 2020 Edinson Cavani is due to fly into Manchester to complete #MUFC signing as a free agent. Contract is one year with option of second. Major wages. Makes sense as a striker to replace departing Odion Ighalo. That money could have been used for Sancho deal, no? Does Cavani change the way United lines up and who hits the bench? Or do Tony and Rashford flank him?
