Sell James to help with Sancho or no? https://www.espn.com/soccer/soccer-...-to-fund-sancho-bid-board-unconvinced-sources
Sell James either way. Id rather we kept Chong and given him minutes over James. James is a nothing player. Hes fast and thats it. Cant dribble, cant pass, bad IQ, no creative ability, not even the defensive winger he looked like he could be at one point last year (and inferior version of Lingard in that sense). He was a low risk/high reward shot in the dark that didnt pay off. Oh well, sell him and move on.
Im curious as to the thinking of why Woody thinks Dortmund are going to cave on Sancho? They are a selling club, sure, but not one that needs to sell to stay afloat. So why would they drop the price on a player that has a 3 year contract, whos ability and value is only going to increase, and who will definitely have more suitors in future transfer windows? It just doesnt make sense.
We went frugal when we could have had a dynasty era. Carrick had to hold the midfield himself, the guy is underrated for what we achieved and who his partners were.
Given can’t get things done over many weeks / months then no confidence we will get anything done right in a few days. What a bunch of clowns.
The one good thing about James is that having him meant we sent Chong on loan where he will get plenty of PT and exposure and become a better player. I like Chong, certainly one of his biggest fans on here but he is raw and he was never going to get the PT he needed to develop as an academy player.
Yeah I know some of you here are a lot higher on him that I am. Raw is the best way to describe him. Im still unsure where Chong's ceiling is.
It's the same shyte every year and tbh I don't even follow all this transfer crap. No need to get all worked up about it. Just let me know who's been signed.
You think so? Or is it more the above, we’re attached to every move for multiple reasons, including using our name in getting deals done.
Nah, our fan base is real gullible. The window could close tomorrow and next week Thursday someone can put out Sancho will be given permission to join United despite the window being closed and it will get thousands of retweets and ppl will start saying we're getting Sancho
Good news on the Dalot loan. If we aren't going to play him, might as well have him in the shop window and or develop him. I think he's a talent one we should persevere with given Laird's injury woes but c'est la vie. With AP, Dalot and hopefully Smalling's salaries soon to be off the books and whatever we are able to extract for Smalling, hopefully that convinces the knuckleheads to pony up for Sancho. I imagine Smalling was on 100K per week or so and AP and Dalot probably combine for about 120K per week so that's some salary shifted. My biggest hope is that October 5th is right around the corner and we'll finally be past the pretense.
I miss the good old days of "There's no value in this transfer market" and "Happy with the squad we have". We knew Fergie and Gill would usually be able to find some talent in the following window most seasons.

Leaving it to last day is win-win for Glazers - they either get players at discount or have what they believe is passable “we tried excuse” for most supporters while pocketing money.
Stick my neck out and risk a prediction - I reckon we will get nowhere with Sancho and therefore keep James. Telles probably last day (regardless of where he is) as they will want to sell. Cavani after the window to shut supporters up.
