Well, skipping Bremen probably not the worst call every. Although with his speed and strength he might have had a better showing there than Josh (so far).

Interesting. Looking at Preston’s transfer history, they would need to beat their record transfer by at least triple. So, they couldn’t afford him. I think he’s better than that club. But he seems to be happy in Seattle. And he’s playing great.

At Sargent's age, Morris was still in college playing raising his new puppy with the GF. He wasn't Werder material.

PNE simply has a crunch on Morris and realized, "oh shit..... he's an expensive date to the prom."

I will say...... Morris would be fun to watch in the Championship. Speed and power. Two things I love about the Championship. I think he could be huge success in the Championship.

I wouldn't be totally shocked if Jordy looked at a move abroad after this season, especially if the Sounders win another trophy or two.

He's no dummy. He sees where almost all the best USMNT players are playing these days. I'm sure he'd like to get some experience over there for a year and a half before the WC and then come back in January 2023.

Sounds like a good way to waste time. PNE doesn't know their place in the football world, relatively speaking. Some of these clubs, like Celtic, are stuck in the past. You can tell by their extreme lowball offers they believe to be realistic.

Not to mention getting Seattle & Morris to accept a transfer at this pt is going to take a lot more than the typical club & player.

What does him being in college previously have to do with anything? He would have been joining Werder at 21, out of college, w/ some reps on the US national team where he was already giving Netherlands & Mexico fits.

Then he proceeded to improve dramatically w/ pro experience, i.e.: developing a left foot & post-up/combo game; to the pt he was out-playing a plethora of players at bigger clubs than Werder on the NT. So if he wasn't "Werder material" then, he eventually would have been during his time there, & is beyond them now.

We hope & expect Sargent ultimately is too good for them too, but as of right now, at 20, he is Werder material.

I assumed this thread was from 5 years ago and I was wrong.

Jordan Morris is above Preston North End.

Yeah but if he got an EPL offer I bet he would take it...(and be able to hang)

I'd imagine he has gotten an EPL offer at some point. He's got the caps for a WP, is early prime-aged, & has excelled for club + country.

There's just no benefit for anyone involved - player, agent, prospective outgoing or incoming club - to let that info circulate. Because then there'd be more dog comments. Even this prompted them, & on paper it wouldn't make Morris look bad at all to turn down an offer from PNE.

He just doesn't seem inclined to go abroad right now, if ever. Don't know what he's said or done that's indicated otherwise. He's very much in that Landon zone. Maybe he takes a loan at some pt too for the experience. Hopefully at least he does that, but we aren't his daddies so should respect his decision, & as long as he keeps performing for country & club, it's all that matters.

he's gotta be curious at this point of how he'd fare in a top 5 league

I heard about this on the United States of Soccer yesterday but the player wasn't named in that rumor. Jason Davis was guessing it was Zardes.

I usually an leery of US players going to England, but his game was made for the Premier League and I think he's ready. He's better than PNE.

Shouldn’t this be merged with his Werder trial thread and moved to the Academy @bungadiri?

Why on earth would he leave Seattle? I'm sure they will double his salary -- at least -- on the next contract.

He is better than the Championship IMO. Needs to be in a top 5 league. The speed/power combo is legit and he has become a very good crosser and passing threat. I would like to see him in the BDL. He has outgrown the MLS.

It appeared the above poster was comparing Morris at 25 to Morris’s ability to succeed at Werder at 20.

To date has Morris ever been effective against one of the better national teams?

I agree that Morris has outgrown MLS, but I feel like this might be one of those scenarios where no Euro club is going to offer enough to make it worth Seattle's while to sell. Morris is in his prime and is top 5 in the league in goals (7) and assists (6) so far this season. He's probably at least on the fringes of the MVP discussion. How much would it cost Seattle to bring in a comparable replacement from South America (where MLS teams like to go for such players)? $8-10 million? So maybe selling Morris for $12+ million makes it worth it for them?

But I doubt any Euro team wants to pay $12+ million for a 25-year-old American in MLS. I think the only way a deal would happen is if Seattle lets Morris go relatively cheaply just because he wants to go.

I mentioned in another thread I could see Morris taking a gamble on a Championship side in the winter window... but only one that at minimum is almost a top 6 lock.

Look Miguel Almiron brought Atlanta a 27 million US. In order to get Jordan Morris you have to believe he is worth North of 22.

Out of giggles and laughs I looked up Transfermarkt Almiron's current value 17.6 million Jordan Morris 3.85 million something is wrong here.
