On Ayotunde Ogunbiyi's Twitter feed, there a post from Damilola Ogunbiyi announcing that she's started a new job January 1st with the United Nations (in NYC, I presume). Is she Tunde's wife?
1st spring game ... Penn State goals vs. USL's Pittsburgh Riverhounds: https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=122862975810977
Spring games are not official. Teams play a variety of opponents including other college teams, USL teams and the occasional European u20 team.
Happens all spring, USL is in preseason. College springs suck. It's a way to give each a boost, somewhat.
As announced in the link below from Fordham soccer, Penn State GK Josh Levine will graduate from Penn State this semester, and then transfer to join Fordham's soccer squad as a graduate student and for his final collegiate season in fall 2020. Congrats to Josh for the great job he did in goal for Penn State, and wishing him all the best with the Rams and beyond. https://fordhamsports.com/news/2020/1/21/mens-soccer-adds-three-more-to-recruiting-class.aspx
Typically, USL is better than college. Of course, as you know, soccer can be cruel and the lesser can beat the better team on any given day. USL is composed of professional players and many of the best college players who don't make the MLS roster develop in the USL.
Zips traveled to Happy Valley last Sunday for an indoor scrimmage, won 1-0 by Nittany Lions. I did not make the road trip, so that is about as much as I know. Anybody got more? Observations?
Sorry -- I wasn't there and I haven't heard anything, or seen anything online, except one person on Facebook said that he had heard second-hand that in first game at 12 noon PSU won 5-0 over Seton Hall. I guess the Zips also played Seton Hall? I've asked on social media if anyone else has any more info. If I hear anything I'll let you know.
Pretty cool video from Facebook of the Nittany Lions practicing a couple of weeks ago ... https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=241391240543752
