Madrid has done exceptionally well in terms of their squad management. They bought a bunch of good young talent cheap and have been loaning a ton of them out and increasing their balance book. Hazard is the only one who was a stretch, was old and coming off an injury and they didn't need him, he's flopped but he's still a good player. Zidane was terrible with James, but from an overall squad building perspective they've got a lot of really good cheap talent, they just sold their 3rd choice LB for 30m euros and have made a profit this summer. They ********ed James and a few of the legends are hanging on, but their flush with cash and are going to buy Mbappe and are light years ahead of Barca who way over paid for players who didn't fit their system and needs.

Madrid with this roster, coach and without cr7 wont be compete for ucl....

The competition last year in spain didnt exist......if barsa wouldnt decided to hijacked them firing valverde and hiring setien....madrid wouldnt win nothing.

In europe today for me they arent top 7 in roster....

I have thia opinion since cr7 left, and lopetegui get the chatge..isnt telated with zidane treatment to james

I'm a Barca fan and I hate Madrid. Barca has been run terribly, they are broke and they've had the best player of all time and although they've won a lot of La Liga's they've blown up terribly in the champions league largely because they have a bloated old squad with the largest wages in the world. Barca were papered over by Messi, the last couple years whenever they played without Messi they were garbage. Madrid came off winning 3 straight champions league and when Barca faltered last year they capitalized. After such a cycle you have to rebuild and Madrid last year rebuilding and they still won, and although they aren't a top squad in the world, they've been waiting for Messi to fall off and then all the young talent they've been stocking up on and the cash they've saved will be put to use while their internal rivals Barcelona are a complete shit show.

I don't like Zidane or Madrid and I don't like how he treated James but they are run way better then Barca who are currently in a massive crisis and holding the best player ever hostage. Madrid may be ruthless but they're effective.

Yeah i agree in managemt madrid have been better., to build a squad with proper players (not to run for europe imho)...barsa have been atrocious.............but regards the topic that is the roster (as group of players) if you tell me to go toishopping i prefer to go to barca...and get griezmann, de jong, dembele, coutinho, fati, pjanic, lenglet..............over rodrygo, vinicus, lucas, vasquez, isco, jovic, asensio etc....they are not attractive......i would only buy hazard and maybe casemiro (but isnt like he is from other planet)

Those bars aplayer are great...other thing is that they didnt fit in barcelona oriented messi team.

Yeah i dont forrget about benzema, marcelo, modric, kross......but barsa equivalents are messi, pique, alba, busquets....

    madrid since cr7.....

Barca bought mainly the finished product in Griezmann, Coutinho and Pjanic. Griezmann and Pjanic are at the end of the cycle and are on huge wages. Dembele is a good player but they wayyyyy overpaid for him and he's too injury prone. Fati was developed in house and he's great, can't complain about that, Dejong is great and they got him really cheap, good business there.

Madrid ********ed up with Hazard overpaying for a guy who's 28 but past that they bought a lot of guys super young and cheap and can retool easily now. It all comes down to the prices really, Barca overpaid way too many times and panicked, Madrid are buying low and I think starting next season you are going to see them reap the benefits because even though some of these guys are struggling its because they are young and the minutes they are getting will either make them good players or will get them a high transfer fee. Kroos, Madric, Benzema, Marcelo and Ramos are sill the leaders and contribute a lot, its just crazy that he totally discarded James, but aside from that I can't knock how they've gone about squad management, and all that money they've saved and the money from selling CR7 high is going to get them huge talents over the next couple years and when Barca is weakest.

wait is that trolling James or real? Like he sprints for Colombia. And makes runs. I don’t get where they get he is slow or lazy.

regardless has been great the last 2 games

the Brazilian on the other hand would be a starter for any team if he even had 1 ounce of finishing ability

This madrid team is useful for the style of zidane.........i dont see the "promisings stars" of vinicius, rodrygo, jovic...as madrid starts or another top club............

not because they are young mean they are going to represent suscces and money for madrid in the future...........

yeah if you play football manager....this investment in young players and save money during last years looks great.............but not always works.............and more when your system is to please a coach like zidane that is more focus in a system based in rigid tactics....

having siad this, barca management have been horrible...........but in this moment if you say me where i want to buy players i will say barsa over madrid....doesnt mean ithat i think barsa have a good manager or good scouting right now.

The peacock app is now on roku, for those that havent heard.

    https://www.theverge.com/2020/9/21/...ming-roku-nbc-universal-tv-movies-sports-news

Was just coming to post this. Don't even get how they track that. If they hit a certain speed? Anyway, as they brought up on that show, and everywhere else now that James has started off so well in the premiere league, its not all about pace and physicality. Which is so funny to read now after what was being said.

I know this isn’t 100% true, but whenever I see a criticism about a player, especially a playmaker, not sprinting, I always think of this quote:

    Johann Cruyff:

“When you see a player sprinting, it’s because he’s too late.”

I think it's a computer that tracks it. Maybe James is too slow, he is running as fast as he can but the computer doesn't know he is sprinting.

Yeah, I get how they do it. Tracking how fast players are in different sports has been done a lot. Like here:

I'm just wondering what is considered a sprint? Is it hitting a certain speed? Is it with or without the ball?

    I think with the ball

James had 4 ball recoveries and I doubt he did that without sprinting

Watching the game, I don't remember him sprinting with the ball

Life did not start 20 years ago.
And last year Miami had one of its worst teams ever and still had a chance late to win the Gator game.
We have more NFL players. We have more prestige.
Miami as a city blows Gainesville out of the water.

    *Mic explodes.

Recent history matters more than total history. Otherwise Milan is better than Bayern, City, Barcelpna and every team except Madrid.

Clemson doesn't have the history Miami has but it's definitely the better program right now

But yeah brother. Hold on to the 80s and 90s since that's all you can hang on to.
