Is this why he played literally every position at Schalke except goalie?

Jermain Jones like, maybe. More so than Bradley like, IMHO

"An instant cult hero for the fans, who worship those who show awareness and fight. Stole the ball that allowed CR7 to hit the crossbar and was the most reactive in the buildup to the second goal. Finished on the right, showing his versatility."

His relative skills at Schalke were certainly higher across the board than they are at Juventus. I'm a big fan of Wes and stick up for him all that time when we get people being silly about him. But all players have strengths and weaknesses. Guess what, Pulisic sucks at defending headers in the box. Accepting that no player is perfect and great at everything is not an insult.

I can’t do much better. I guess my Italian is Google translate level. alert instead of awake would be better. Makes the steal for CR7 shot off the crossbar. The most reactive on the 2-0. Closes the match on the right wing. Agree Jolly just means Jolly. The writer would have done better to use a word like awesome but at least he tried.

My wife and kids are in Europe at the moment visiting family. My wife has been horrified by the lack of social distancing and mask wearing. She says that everyone there is still treating it as though it is a foreign virus that is acquired elsewhere. That is despite what is pretty clear community spread.

The victory lap Europe took this summer while the southern United States was struggling is about to look as dumb in hindsight as George W's Mission Accomplished aircraft carrier photo op. Gavin Newsom can lock me down here in California forever for all I care. I just can't have the European soccer season interrupted again. There are too many YAs at good clubs right now for that to happen.

And yeah, I know, my priorities are not the greatest.

I went to a youth soccer tournament in Phoenix this weekend. Supposedly social distancing and mask wearing was mandatory. Nope, parents acting like everything was normal. I'll be surprised if the season is completed at this rate.

Ramos has 26 sending offs in his career. I guess if you play for a tippy top team you that can survive playing a man down you can get away with it. Anyway, I doubt opponents feared Ramos as much as wondering if they could bait him.

Eh, as long as they keep doing contact tracing and quarantine sports will go on. We've basically proven contact tracing plus testing plus quarantine works. MLB went off just as the virus was at it's (this far) worst in the US and they managed it.

I'd be more worried about going back to zero fans, which really isn't that big of a worry as we've already seen it works just fine and the play isn't really affected.

I think that’s “Joker”- believe Italians call the joker in a deck of card the Jolly. So, it means Wes is a wildcard who can be used anywhere.

Was waiting for you to bring the local angle.

Thanks for all past - and now I'm thinking long future - translations. Much appreciated.

I do a lot of work with Paris at the moment and they were doing pretty well until August 1. I had a slew of Zooms the last week of July as everyone got ready for vacation... "The terraces are open" "We are going to Provence, but will very careful..." "We're going to Normandy, but will only walk on the beach alone..."

The French and Spanish cannot do without August vacation. Can't be done. C'est la vie... ou 'nah'

Wes will be sitting most likely because of card accumulation.

I don't think Ramsey is a fast player but he can knock one in if given a chance.

After watching all of his touches I see that he needs to improve his passing to the level of the rest of the team. More than once he passed behind. He misses to connect with Rabiot for the easier pass but instead passes to the back 4. I'm sure he will improve as the season progresses. This will help greatly with our NT.
But he does bring something nobody has shown to have, a bite to the game.

I just read an extensive although a bit dated article on Rabiot, he can be a headcase if things are not done the way he likes it. I hope Wes knows how to deal with him.

Btw, I can't believe this thread title won. I sure hope some of you have better sense in Steffen's vote.
