I always find this type of argument specious at best. A player with the instincts to put in a cross at the right moment creates the chaos that can lead to a goal. That's the whole point. Sometimes it is clean and pretty and sometimes it leads to pinball and a tap in. It all starts with the cross.

Right ... but seriously, that is a pass any player makes. It was also so open. It doesn't show anything special. And it was 1 out of 3. In one game. It's a shit point. I have nothing against Willian. He is a good player. But we don't need him to make that pass. If anything I'd take the guy on the other side of the pass.

You seen not to realise that Willian can play right / left winger or ANYWHERE in the midfield

If you’re discounting a perfect flighted corner and then a perfectly weighted , pinpoint 30 yard , defence splitting pass to allow Aubameyang a clear shot on goal then there’s no point discussing things with you ..

As regards Aub ... he’s willing to come here apparently

He could play LW. Probably no space in AM. But you still glamorized 3 assists that didn't show anything as if it was proof of something.

Yes ... because we don't have MESSI already taking great corners. The cross was good, nothing none of current Barca players ... and I mean all of them can't do. You're not pointing out anything special.

He was credited with three assists .... not bad for a player nobody seems to rate ..
Plus he’s only trained with them a few times ..

Oh look ... Firmino missed a 1v1 at the dying mins vs Leeds ... didn't you say get him for past 2 seasons ? See what I did there ?

If you think that Firmino is the team to simply score goals then that kinda explains a lot ;)

Oddly enough , I just said on another forum how poor he’s been today .. Liverpool don’t look anywhere near as fit as Leeds who are known to be ultra fit at the start of EVERY season.

Wijnaldum looked as though he just wanted to avoid injury today

Be that as it may, the point from Barcelona’s perspective is that putting in a decent cross “at the right moment” in the box is what most wingers are expected to be able to do at this level, surely. Which is why this “skill” isn’t a deciding factor when determining if a player is Barcelona quality. We have plenty of those.

Not really. I see him playing in Brazil as well. I know his strengths and limitations. He'd work if we changed the way we play. Otherwise, he'd probably be wasted.

It’s not really surprising that someone who doesn’t use capital letters struggles to keep up tbh

It’s also no wonder so few people bother to post on here is it ..

We are all members of the same forum and support Barcelona . .. it’s totally bizarre how rude and ignorant so many of you are ...

It’s also the height of immaturity to believe that if someone has an opinion you disagree with they must be mistaken or stupid
    ..

Time some of you grew up

Well, probably not seeing as how Barca only won one Liga throughout the 80s.

James Rodríguez is running the game against a strong Spurs team ..
    Wasn’t he a free transfer ?

So far his passing and vision has been Messi -like !!

Interesting to see all three ex Barca guys playing really well also

Our forwards and midfield aren't the issue. Its the board and the defenders. De Ligt turned us down last summer, but since him we haven't gone after any defender that would be an improvement to the mediocre defenders we have.

Our forward lineup ever since Neymar left is a big issue. Whenever Dembele has been injured we lack the speed to counter attack our opponents which provides higher incentive to our opponents to press our team in our own half.

In addition, our midfield often includes player who are not good at resisting pressure and therefore opt to pass backward to either defenders or goalkeeper. This is the reason why we circulate the ball between our defenders and goalkeeper so much these days.

The forward line and midfielders we have had for the last couple of season was always asking for our opponent to pressure us in our own half. The Bayern result is an outlier but the way they played against us that day was nothing which they found out of the blue. Many teams in LaLiga played us in this way last season and we were often outplayed by smaller teams in Camp Nou itself.

We need therefore players in forward line (atleast 2) and in midfield (atleast 1) who has speed to hurt our opponent in counter attack. This is needed to not only counter attack but also to innstill fear in our opponents mind so that they do not relentlessly pressure us in our own half.

That was past tense because our previous managers were playing the wrong guys as well as playing players out of position. Ansu Fati, Dembele, Trincao, Pedri, Konrad provide plenty of speed on the wings to properly counter. Now Koeman playing a double pivot will aid in beating teams who press us. De Jong is brilliant at this, Pjanic, Puig can do a job here as well eventhough they are better a little more advanced. I'd be interested to see how Sergio Busquets and Sergi Roberto do in a double 6 role having a partner.

Asked to leave usually mean a player is looking for a new, improved contract.

I heard the Mbappe rumor but who knows.
Neymar was handed a two match ban for his red card the other day.
