Yeah, Spain does it the best way IMO. No need for teams in the relegation fight to play at the same time as teams 50 points above them in the table. But ..yeah... on the second-last matchday everyone really should play at the same time.

Ironically, England gets it wrong both matchday 38 and 37! I still can't get over that they not only don't kick-off round 37 matches at the same time, but they don't even kick off on the same week!

It was? I had a split-screen thing going with a bunch of different games and funeral coverage and didn't notice anything. Either way, it's irrelevant now.

OTOH, it's great to see Sky Sports News back on NBCSN this past while. Too bad they can't seem to remove their standard ticker for the Sky one.

As far as kickoff times, it seems foolish to do it now in the digital era. I'm sure the managers can get other scores from their staff, from the PA system, from fans yelling "Chelsea is up by two!" or whatever other means.

Yet, what I'd like to see for MLS is have it by conference. It seems ridiculous for DC-Toronto to kick off the same time as SJ-Portland when the playoffs go by conference. The Eastern Conference should be at 2pm ET and the Western Conference should be much later. This would allow fans to watch the other conference and it would allow another game on ESPN/FS1. Ideally, both conferences could then have two games on national TV, three if you count one game on TUDN.

Weird the way Sky Sports News was off NBCSN through the whole shudown and even through Project Restart, then as soon as the season ended it popped up again! Other than some really bizarre legal contract, what could be the logic behind this? ;)

I guess it's time to think about ponying up for Peacock. I haven't really been focusing on that... what's the current deal? Annual only or month to month option?

Thanks. I don’t know where to begin with what is underwhelming about this.

    Actually I do...

    1. No Roku support? Seriously??

    2. No FF/RWD/PAUSE controls?

    3. No ability to watch a game from start if it’s in progress?

And here I thought it was 2020 and mainstream streaming has been around for what, 5-10 years?

It's amazing to see the legacy media companies struggle to adapt. It took ESPN forever to catch, and their app is still buggy and clunky.

Watched West Ham-Newcastle today and the games on Peacock look like they're going to get the same treatment as the games on NBCSN, studio pre and post-game, same graphics as the NBCSN broadcast, etc. The world feed announcers were used.

Did anyone else notice Arlo & Co sounded a couple of seconds ahead of the Liverpool-Leeds match? It is like they projected a bit ahead of time especially during Salah's penalty.

So they really putting the EPL game on Peacock and instead showing the women's West Ham Arsenal game on NBCSN? lol

This West Ham Arsenal game isn't even live.

    This is unreal lol.

I'm glad I got an IPTV service. I'm not paying for Peacock lol

Yeah, thought it was going to be a pretty straightforward thing where old Gold games went to Peacock, but they are straight up paywalling matches that would previously have been on NBCSN. Bushleague. Have to go on an IPTV research trek I guess.

I would be fine if the various provider paywall everything because I could dump DTV, but some networks do and some don't. For example, I could pay for MLB package but I won't get MLB Network on that package. And I don't think I will get TBS, Fox, FS1, or FS2 games. I could pay for Peacock but will I get NHL games that show on NBC Sports and will I get COMCAST Chicago games? There's always some little piece that is missing.

ESPN+ has me mostly covered, so there are just a few dangling channels. I know FUBO and Sling are cheaper than DTV but I had Sling and BEIN's CONNECT channels looked like garbage compared to what I could download on file sharing sites from IPTV BeIN CONNECT. And if I cut out DTV then my Internet rates change. It's a racket.

    Bushleague is right.

Notice next Saturday the 19th only one game is on NBCSN instead of 2 or 3 that would normally be shown.

And Sunday the 20th all four games will be behind the paywall. They won't show a single game on NBCSN.

I already pay for NBCSN so I won't be paying for Peacock Premium. I can find other things to do. Maybe it's just me but lack of access just makes me realize that although I'm a fan I can do other things with my time. For me, it simply loses some importance.

You are not the only one.
I refuse to get ESPN+ or Peacock or CBS All Access .

I just watch extended highlights on youTube after the games are over or just watch Spanish Language alternatives if they have the game on in reference to the Champions League.

Hopefully the reason it's nearly all on Peacock next weekend is that it is a free preview. Otherwise, there will be a lot of disappointed soccer fans.

At least with ESPN+ there's a massive load of content especially if you like other sports. Heck even just soccer tho they pick up so many leagues. They already got Serie A and Bundesliga now as well as a bunch of lower tier leagues.

But I can't justify paying for Peacock when I don't even know how many Arsenal games will be on that platform to begin with.

It's BS. They make u pay for the channel then they make u pay for the streaming platform.

It's crazy because they received such backlash from NBC Gold, I thought they would have learned but nope.

NBC is killing the EPL here with this. I can't envision where many people pick up Peacock. People are just going to either 1) find a different way to watch or 2) not watch at all.

And TNT getting the rights to the Champions League and Europa League is killing that as well.

Yup noticed that. Not sure if it was intentional or not. ESPN had its own voice synching problems during US Open coverage this week.

I also noticed that whomever was handling NBC's graphics today, needs a little more education or oversight. During the FUL-ARS #10 Cairney got cautioned and the screen showed "#10 Ozil - Yellow". Not only the wrong player and wrong team, but Ozil wasn't even in the squad that day.

Then today, when they showed WBA's lineup, it listed "Nigel Pearson - Manager". Hello? Where did they possibly get that from? Pearson has never managed WBA and isn't even in the EPL any more, though he did get fired from another "W" team. Rebecca Lowe noticed the error and corrected it verbally.

BUT... that sloppiness doesn't quite hold a candle to what I noticed later when I caught up with this other game...

In this WSL airing of WHU-ARS, it was scoreless thru 15:00 when suddenly and randomly NBC inserted a bunch of commercials and then equally suddenly rejoined the match at 28:00 when it was 1-1. Wow! Apparently the person responsible for that didn't even look at the goal times before excising those 13 mins and those 2 goals.

Maybe they thought that since there ended up being 10 total goals in this match they could afford to ignore 2 of them. :p

Hopefully NBC's production team will get back on track sooner rather than later.

p.s. All that said, I am thankful to NBC for showing WSL matches on TV... hope they keep that up! Perhaps the influx of USWNT players will help ratings.

Quick question regarding this peacock nonsense. I just found about this crap when I went to DVR today’s Chelsea match..

    does it have roku support?

more importantly does it allow you to record the early matches like a dvr?

my biggest gripe isn’t the $$$ it’s about going down the rabbit hole of more and more subscription apps, while realizing cable is still the better due convenience...

this whole streaming landscape is become A mess..

    No.
There may be some bootleg way to download it on there but there is no native support.

    Ok thanks.

They show replays or offer DVR (for my other tv which is smart)?
