Ah yes "rumours from Spanish media". Real Madrid will play 2 pre-season friendlies before La Liga starts. First friendly will be against Rayo Vallecano on the 9th of September and the second will be played against Getafe on the 15th of September. [@Marca] pic.twitter.com/2WV6ZgshZb— Infinite Madrid (@InfiniteMadrid) September 5, 2020
Confirmed that we'll have 5 substitutions and 23-player matchday squads in Primera + Segunda this season https://t.co/AYRY9sv9WS— The Spanish Football Podcast (@tsf_podcast) September 8, 2020 Spain is set to keep the 5 sub rule. I like it
What about the Champions league? I want La Liga to be as similar with the rules to the Champions league. I don't want our team to have to specially adjust to CL settings. But this shouldn't be a problem to Zidane who usually doesn't do subs.
The other argument is that the drop off in quality for the big teams from the first XI to the subs bench could be big while the drop off in quality from the XI to the subs bench for less wealthy clubs is more negligible. To be honest, it might benefit the smaller teams that rely on pressing or focusing on defense rather than skill and attacking. Five subs where you're only worried about replacing willing runners and fresh legs could be beneficial for them to steal points from the big teams. Subs favoring big or smaller teams both have valid arguments.
There are data to suggest small teams having been using more subs than the big teams since the initiation of the sub rule. It also gives more opportunity for young players to get minutes and develop, thereby also giving small clubs a potential new avenue of showcasing players to make a profit. It also reduces the likelihood of injuries in a compact schedule. I don’t think it is as simple as saying more subs means wealthier teams will necessarily be at an advantage. Smaller teams often have to work harder and cover more ground to compete against the big teams, thereby exhausting more energy. Having more subs can allow for fresher legs to defend, possibly making it more difficult for the big teams to break down their blocks.
Se suspende el partido entrenamiento de mañana entre el Real Madrid y el Rayo por un problema de COVID en el Rayo.— Arancha Rodríguez (@AranchaMOBILE) September 8, 2020 Preseason match against Rayo called off after a covid problem amongst the Vallecano players
Well said. I like the 5 sub rule. Gives the managers more tactical flexibility which makes their impact greater. Also gives squad players more opportunities which is a good thing. Sevilla or Villarreal who have good coaches will benefit. Lots of folks are just resistant to change.
This. My next wish is for them to stop the clock when the ball is out of play in order to kill all the unnecessary time wasting.
📌 Zidane adores Castilla’s Antonio Blanco who’s well received by the club and they have rejected several offers for him.He has dazzled Zidane in pre-season who believes he can perform the tasks of Casemiro and Kroos which are important for Zidane’s plans. @English_AS #rmalive pic.twitter.com/sgyPQWE9WH— Madrid Zone (@theMadridZone) September 10, 2020 The next prospect to emerge from the Castilla to senior team pipeline?
I just watched bit of his highlights videos - he's OK but doesn't really seem to be really impressive even at the Castilla level. Neither did Casemiro, so let's hope it's a case like Case.
Wilmar Barrios would be a great back up for Casemiro. Good no nonsense DM with decent passing But I wouldnt want him here since I don't see Zidane rotating much
This is probably our best case scenario for cover for Casemiro this season, so I hope Blanco does impress Zidane and show his worth. Because we are unlikely to move in the market.
If ZZ loves this player won't that affect any plan that may have been on the table for Camavinga at some point, considering where they both play and both are young
Well I admit I`ve let me see on the official LALigaFantasy manager 5 Real Madrid players, of course, they will defend the LA Liga title. Mendy Ødegaard Federico Valverde Vinicious Jr. Rodrygo The truth is Benzema, Casemiro, & T. Kroos is too expensive on the manager so going youth.
