There is often a lot of lip service from managers & the f.o. about how you're now part of the first team to lift your spirits. Yet they go down to play for the 2nd team frequently so not much actually changes. It's a typical trajectory. But I'd say the parallel is a lot closer to Llanez than Richards (who I think is loaned). The standard at Bayern is way higher than those clubs. And it's a more favorable situation than Llanez even cuz of PSV's willingness to integrate. So I think Ledezma factors in to the PSV first team a good amount this season. There's always injuries too. In preseason they are far from their peak. This season is crucial. About to hit his 20's. Don't want to stagnate or see perception as a prospect wane to hurt future opportunities. Next move would be a loan to an Eredivisie bottom feeder at 21.
Totally agree. If he finds a way to crack 1000 minutes somehow that would be a huge step and he’d be capped in ‘21. 500+ mins would be a success. He has to at least make a few spot appearances, and I’d still be concerned if that was the case, for the season to not be an enormous disappointment. I have high hopes that he gets 500-1000 mins.
Afaik Ledezma will be part of the first team selection. It's important as the style Schmidt plays/wants the team to play is fast and furious football, like Bayern did to Barcelona. He will need to be training with the first team selection to pick up that style and what it needs from him as a player and how he must adapt to become a part of the machinary. Was very bad for Luuk de Jong (double scorer in the EL Final), Gullit, van Nistelrooij, Huntelaar, Mertens, Hasselbaink, van Persie, de Ligt, Frenkie de Jong.... Yup, it sucks to be there to gain the necesary experience. Recent Orange Squad additions who came through that "low level" are Malen, Stengs, Boadu, Schuurs.
Based on what? Incomplete understanding on how the Dutch system operates and overlaying it with perceptions of how other leagues operate?
This is certain posters MO. They have a formula for what players should do. If a player isn't getting "first team minutes", they declare he should go out on lian or return to MLS. It is a shame as you already provided a good description of his situation. Anyone who understands how player development works at all would realize that Ledezma is in a great situation to advance his career.

They had scheduled two matches in one day against Hertha. One was cancelled, so the sure first team players get the necesary get ready minutes.
Back with the first team? Or was he injured? Happy to be back cmon @PSV ❤️ https://t.co/Lf3T7zRvXI— Richard Ledezma (@richydezma) September 10, 2020
ledezma had one brutally bad pass, but realistically this entire game is being played in psvs half. jong az are just a lot better and dont really have to do much to thwart psvs attempts to build out of the back
i was excited to watch this for about 5 minutes and then it was so awful that it moved into the background vv quickly ledezma buries a penalty!
shouldve said a ledezma throughball started the penalty sequence, though the foul seemed outside of the box to me
