I expect to see members of the PTO that are wearing buttons showing their high school football player/cheerleader selling semi-warm shredded chicken sandwiches and 9000 degree hot chocolate in little Styrofoam cups manning the stand. This is something my high school would build in the 80's.
Well, some of those kinds of folks likely do that at Crew and Blue Jackets games too. You may have noticed that most concessions at both are run by volunteers to raise money for their organizations.
Yeah, it absolutely looks like a high school concession stand. But those chicken sandwiches are on point.
Austin announces they are sold out of season tickets. It continues to seem odd to me that they don't mention numbers (at least not where I am seeing them). I am not sure I understand that logic. Twellman answered that tweet with 15.5k which seems to be the answer to the questions
The email they (Austin FC) sent out this morning stated 15.5k season tickets. Wait list details were also shared: they're giving those folks first right of refusal for purchasing up to (6) single match tickets, as well as for non-footy events like concerts. They would also get priority on any season tickets that come back available.
The release says 15,500 full season ticket memberships. Are we sure it isn’t 10,000 full season and a bunch of shorter ticket packages? That’s how they reported the numbers here in Columbus under previous ownership (combining the 2)
JFC..... I couldn't even get through the first paragraphs. This thing was written by the douche nozzles in Austin or even Precourt himself. https://www.thepostcincy.com/stories/15k-tickets-sold-proves-anthony-precourt-was-right-all-along Notice how they don't have a "comments" section?
Most papers are doing that these days (Dogpatch too). I kinda get it--you'd need an industrial strength cleaner for most of those these days, Or a phaser.
The only thing he left out is that FCC will sell more season tickets for next year than the number of total tickets that either the Crew or Austin sell.
Sometimes they give a troll a commentary column in a newspaper. The entire point of doing so is to rile people up, not to add to an informed public discussion of anything. Don't feed that kind of troll either.
The problem happens some times that your team's beat writer is a troll. Ugh. Not so much in Columbus, at least.
So you really think The Post - a site dedicated to FC Cincinnati - would allow an article written by an Austinite or Precourt on their site? An article The Post credited to an anonymous leader of the Queen City War Pigs (the oldest SG for Cincy), that trashes not only Precourt but the city of Austin? But you should have gone past the first paragraphs. You would have missed these gems: [MOD EDIT] "There was an immediate outcry from dozens and dozens of aggrieved Crew fans, most of whom had naively assumed that since no one in Columbus had ever cared about the Crew that “having an engaged fan-base” wasn’t really a requirement to keep an MLS franchise in town." "And, back in Columbus (where empty bleachers still outnumbered actual Crew fans), work was done to save the Crew. And, while all of the yellow bumblebee-looking weirdos in central Ohio were burning the man in effigy, Precourt was calmly working away down in Austin." "15,000, mind you, is more tickets than the 14,856 the “saved” Columbus Crew averaged at their 2019 home matches." "While everyone out there was laughing or fishing for likes and RTs calling him an asshole, Precourt was doing that work. He’ll be rocking out in a brand new stadium [...] in front of sold out crowds in a place with no winter weather and no state income tax. And there were people SERIOUSLY suggesting he should have stayed in Columbus? Ridiculous. The only mistake Precourt has made here was not making this move when he first bought the Crew."
[MOD EDIT] Cant imagine why you didn't go in that direction. I have no idea why the mods tolerate you guys constantly posting here just to argue, particularly since none of you ever post in the Austin forum. Ever. Your sole purpose is to troll. I'm permanently banned from the Philadelphia forum for having suggested that it wasn't a good idea for the future of the league for some fans to organize an action group to violently assault visiting fans. But as a matter of principle I do not post in other teams forums and haven't in probably ten years. Why? Because they don't give a shit what I think. It's someone else's forum and it would be rude. But down in Austin, that kind of thing has no relevance. EVERYBODY wants to hear your thoughts, right? And you guys don't get why people think you're a bunch of arrogant, clueless, classless assholes. So now, the mods are OK with you spewing ridiculous, sophomoric political tossaway lines here. Normally, if we make any such reference the mods send the post to purgatory or call it "national politics". Now apparently the ideologically blinkered mods are even allowing that. Utterly amazing.
Meh. It’s Cincinnati. A team that has had more managers this year than they have years in existence. The only people that put anything in it are morons from Cincy or those from Austin, like you and your “bro”. The rest of us just point and laugh.
He always has been. He's a douchenozzle on the twitters, and one here too. And he's not alone. See CybrSlydr's next post: Absolute truth. I attempted at the very beginning of the saga to illustrate, in a very civil manner (as did multitudes of others), the absolute nature of the treachery created by Precourt, Greeley, and Loughnane. It was greeted with dismissal at best, but in most cases, it was victim blaming. Jorge, Shawn, Josh, Ron, Nagy, Bern, and Stanger's personal bitch whose name eludes me..... They wanted to hear nothing of the truth of how things actually unfolded nor how the actions of the ownership group actually were designed with this end goal in mind. They chose to victim blame and waged absolute ware on the Crew on twitter and other social media platforms. There's a reason why the Hipster 6 was such a specific number. It was clear that they were involved from the very beginning in a collaborated effort with someone (the league, PSV, ECPR, the mayor's office, etc). The messaging was too similar in nature and timing to be realistically considered anything else. Then they started losing the war and it got REALLY ugly. Shawn came on here to cry a river about how people were threatening his employment for being associated with MLS2ATX. Wah. Cry me a river. These f**Ktards deserver every bad thing that happens to them and their club going forward. It makes me a lesser person, but I will celebrate every goal scored, every point lost, and every negative thing that happens to this club and these jerkwad fans. They will never acknowledge their role in the pain and suffering imparted on this fan base. They try and attendance shame us, but fail to recognize that while the acknowledged ticket buying public may only be 15k, it's still 15,000 people that are deeply and emotionally impacted. They'll never know the pain that these 15,000 people felt in the weeks that followed. And the anxiety, tears, and despair they helped cause. They don't care. Because deep down, they're selfish prick assholes who only care about themselves. I honestly hope their stadium collapses. They can all go f**k themselves.
Wasn’t there a guy named Dog Penis or something like that? He was a special person from California if I remember correctly.
