Season restarts with a 3-1 win by leaders Sydney FC over Wellington. Sydney have 5 games left lead Melbourne City by 11 points (3 games left) and Wellington by 15 points (5 games left). Sydney also have a 20 goal difference advantage. Only need one more point to ensure they finish on top of the ladder (which is the second most important trophy here for those that don't know). The game was scoreless untill both sides exchanged penalties (Wellington 66', Sydney 76'). A close offside call with 10 minutes left saved Sydney City from going a goal down again (no VAR in the resumed league and replays suggest a good chance of the goal being allowed if there was) until 2 late goals in the 88th and 90th minute to substitute Trent Buhagiar sealed the 3 points, and probably the premiership.

A League Grand final kicks off in a couple of hours between Premiers and defending Champions Sydney and Melbourne City. If the season finished as normal Sydney would be red hot favourites but their form since the restart has been patchy and I even the games they have won have been through shorter periods of very good play rather than a 90 minute effort. Melbourne City have been in pretty consistent form since the restart and have a 2-0 victory over Sydney in their most recent encounter. I guess I'll be cheering for Sydney but more with hope than confidence. Game is at Bankwest Stadium and will be before a limited crowd of around 7-8 thousand (25% of capacity) due to social distancing requirements.

Sydney claim the toilet seat for a record 5th time with a 100th minute winner from Ryan Grant (who was also named player of the match, not often won by a right back).

Hi, hopefully this can bring some attention to the new season as well in these forums, however I have created an aleague related survey. I would appreciate all the responses I can just to build a big sample size. Theres hundreds of thousands who walk through the turnstyle semi regularly so it would be nice to have a big number of participants.

It takes roughly 15 minutes to do, and ill publish the results early january.

Admins, if this isnt allowed in this thread can you please move it to the appropriate one and notify me? Thanks
