Better than expected. Showed we could press and smother a team. We got technically sloppy, which seems like a tired thing. So good to see Pines out there again and playing well. Dire in the penetration phase, but gotta start somewhere, I guess. Credit to Ben for changing it up. A point on the road isn't nothing, but must do better.
The only highpoint to the game was watching it with my daughter. The product on the field was woeful. While the back 3 and Hamid did well, that is the real (and only) strength of this team. Any offensive spark has been just beaten out of this team. I remember one instance when Paredes (who has yet to be lobotomized by Olsen) made a run into space. Moreno, who had the ball with a clear view of Paredes instead made a square pass that permitted Cincy to regain its defensive shape. The two highest paid players on the team were non-entities and looked less dangerous than Segura. Anyone who thinks this was promising is using hallucinogens I want as well. Cincy is an awful team. On the bright side, I now know the name of the official FC Cincy organ and tissue bank, so there's that..........
That was a steaming pile of crap. We looked ok for about 25 minutes at the beginning until Cincy got over their surprise at our press. The defense actually looked pretty good, although I'd be worried about playing 3 in the back against a good team. Pines needs to be playing, even though he is going to make mistakes. I have no idea how United is ever going to score in the run of play.
We tied these guys Folks. 😬 #FCCincy pic.twitter.com/Y7dWmVY7KN— Paul Tenorio (@PaulTenorio) August 25, 2020
