?

What should be top priority for the club this summer?

  1. Sign Camavinga

    33.3%
  2. Sell Bale/James (and other deadweight)

    40.9%
  3. Address backup RB

    1.5%
  4. Save the funds for next summer, go after Mbappe

    24.2%

Agree with all of this. Its why a sporting director is important, especially with a mercurial coach like Zidane who is not very transparent and gets strange ideas nobody else will have anticipated.

Mendy / Reguillon being prime example.

Reguillon is 21 year old having his break out season in la liga despite being in a team on its downside. In comes Zidane to crush dreams. Suddenly we are splashing 50 million on an older player from a weaker league without any significant career accomplishments to his name.

Do folks really think Regulion is a better defender than Mendy? Attacking wise, I’ll give it to him (although Mendy isn’t awful and is improving).

Mendy is the better player imo.

Could we have just kept Regulion and saved the money? Sure

But Mendy is a good player and a more complete player

Do people really think Reguilon is a scrub defender?

I think he is good enough at defending.

Having said that I’m of the opinion of @J-Mezzy that Mendy is a better/more complete player with a higher ceiling. Add on to that Zizou specially wanted him then I’m fine with it. I guess I just don’t have as much of an issue as others with it.

Now if you wana talk about why Hazard (Zizou) request when Vin there then I’m all ears, lol.defender.

He isn't a scrub, but he isn't that good either.

Not a scrub defender, but not on Mendy’s level defensively IMO.

It is difficult to keep 2 starting quality players in every position, and they are very close in age.

I believe the desire to win everything every year plays into decisions like this. It may well be that the club knew Marcelo needed to be replaced, but it is also in my opinion easier to replace a legend of the club with a signing who came for a large fee than with a canterano.

I am not saying that is a good thing necessarily, but it is what it is.

That Miguel guy seems he could become a great CB. Better than LB.

Ronaldo(R9): "If Madrid has to make an investment, make it for MBappé"

"Right now it is not that one is better than the other, but if Real Madrid has to make a large investment it has to do it thinking about the future. Neymar is 28 years old and Mbappé 22. As an investment it would be more logical to bring the most young, "

Hope he does well this coming season, we’ll need him ( And Hazard ) at his best if we’re to have a good season again, I doubt Benzema does as well as he did last season.

Eh, absolutely nothing suggests Benzema won't have another great season (barring injuries).

I don't even believe we inquired. It's crazy.

Florentino is doing his "we have all the best players, it's to hard to upgrade" bullshit.

Mbappe didn't score in 14 UCL games in a row? Commentator said it, idk if it's facts. Concerning if true.

I feel Thiago might end up renewing as Liverpool are penny-pinching. Bayern will try to convince him as they have opportunity to win more CLs with this squad.

If I had my way, I would have the below lineup going into next season (Hazard in as we're not signing anyone).

    Courtois

    Carvajal Varane Ramos Mendy

    Valverde Casemiro

    Odegaard

    Hazard Benzema Vinicius

Even if it is true. He’s 21 years of age ffs.

I think he’s proven a few times he can do it on a big night.

There a couple of kids to keep an eye on in that team. Miguel should be the back up when Marcelo leaves. Pablo Ramon has a great future. And Isra Salazar is a pretty prolific scorer, and is only 16.
