I posted this over in the TV forum too. Did any of you see this? Fanatiz had Série A and Série B games this past weekend in a $7.99 Brasileirao streaming package (7-day free trial). The games were all in HD with original commentary from SporTV and Premiere, but with a few streaming bugs here and there, that they seemed to fix later in the games. And Sling has this on their website as of today:

    PREMIERE
Coming soon: If you’re passionate about soccer, prepare to glue yourself to Sling’s 8 Premiere channels. Broadcasting in HD, Premiere proudly hosts Brazil’s live national and state soccer champions, including Série A and Série B!

OK, but you know that those are illegal pirated signals, right? I agree that the cable/satellite/OTT providers are charging too much for these channels and need to reduce prices, but piracy will be the end of the industry. Just like pirated CDs and downloads decimated the music industry and reduced the quality and variety.

It seems that something like 1/3 of all pay TV users in Brazil receive pirated signals. If you are paying some mafia cartel to receive a pirated stream from SporTV instead of legitimately paying for PFC Internactional, then your money is going only to the criminals, and not paying the salaries of the SporTV employees who produce the content.

So you're here advertising .. that's against forum policy.

No. I have nothing to do with Sling or Fanatiz, other than being a subscriber. They are legitimate providers providing the Brasileirao because they purchased the rights legally. I was checking to see if others knew about the services. That is the essence of this forum.

And how could it possibly be advertising when I mentioned both services, and Sling and Fanatiz are competitors?

But it appears that you just admitted to participating in piracy, which is illegal, so that must be against forum policy, right?

It would be cool if others subscribed to the legitimate services, because then they would be more likely to continue, and not be cancelled as unprofitable. But if everyone goes pirate, like you, legit services probably have no chance.

Not really, I didn't advertise any service. You asked a question and I answered. You just decided to pass moral judgement. I still get some Brazilian channels through satellite, but most of the channels I get through the box are not available outside Brazil so it's not money I would otherwise be paying for a legit service. And at the moment I can't justify paying for a separate service for Brasileirao for as little as I end up watching. Perhaps at some point I will. But good luck if you try the service. Hope it works and is decent quality.

OK. Not moral judgment, just facts. While some of those channels are not available outside of Brazil, their content is. That content is owned by others in the USA. Since we are talking about sports, then the various Euro leagues on ESPN Brasil, Fox Sports (Brasil), etc., are games that are available legally in the USA on other networks. It appears that you have not thought that through, and just accept piracy as a legitimate option. That is true of a lot of people from Brazil, and around the world.

You just said that you are unwilling to pay for the Brasileirao from Sling or Fanatiz, the legal rights owners in the USA. But you are happy to pay less to someone who pirated Premiere and SporTV, with no money being paid to the producers of that content. Think about it.

Not really. I never got the box for football/Brasileirao in the first place so you're making an assumption that's why I have it. That's just something that comes with it. Brasileirao games on GolTV or whatever channel it's in now in the US are 1 game a week anyways. Very limited coverage. Otherwise you'd get no access to other games and you have to go another route. I wasn't even aware this service was available. It looks new.

If it's a Libertadores game I want to watch and is available on BeIn, I will watch it there.

The service that is provided in the USA is much different than the services provided in Brazil. In the USA, you are restricted by one game that PFC International shows and one game Globo shows for a given time slot. In Brazil, subscribers have the ability to choose the game they want to watch, much like the various American sports services that are offered in the USA like NFL Ticket. Until they can provide a similar service, you are asking a Palmeiras fan to subscribe to a channel that may not show their games every round. Do you know what happens when a fan can't watch their team on a service they paid? They find a stream online where they can watch their team play.

Sling TV now has Premiere. Just like in Brazil, with all games except those involving Athletico-PR. Fanatiz has all games, including those involving Athletico-PR. Sling and Fanatiz are both legal streaming services in the USA that have paid for the rights to show, and do show all, or virtually all Brasileirao Serie A and B games. Both services are new this season. The cheapest Sling package with Premiere is $10, I believe, and it includes other sports channels. The Fanatiz Brasileirao package is $7.99. They are both in HD with original audio from the Brazilian announcing crews. You need to get up to speed. Check out the Big Soccer TV forum. There is never a justification for illegal activity, and even less so now.

And please do not try to lecture me about Brazilian channel availability. I had Net in Brazil, with SporTV, Premiere, ESPN Brasil, Fox Sports, TNT, etc. So, I know what the options are there.

As a subscriber, I want these legal streaming options to continue. But they won't if everyone chooses piracy. Piracy should not be an option.

And just to eliminate any confusion in your mind, as you seem to have not been following recent developments, and you apparently did not read the Sling information that I posted, Premiere on Sling is 8 separate channels in HD, complete with original commentary from Brazil, and even includes commercials (for Vivo, etc.) as on Brazilian TV. One of the commercials even shows the price R$79,90/month, as I recall, in Brazil. So, it is the EXACT same thing you get in Brazil. Fanatiz Brasileirao is the same thing without the Premiere logo and in-game commercial graphics that run over the screen.

PFC Internacional is entirely different. It is one channel, in SD, not HD. And it has been around for more than a decade in the USA. It seems that you did not understand the new services, which are in addition to PFC Internacional
