I have no issues with Bayern for maximizing themselves within the system.

I do find their fans super-sanctimonious about RB Leipzig and the 50+1 rule, though, and hypocrisy annoys me.

Massive distortion of the competitive landscape via money is okay if it's done the Bayern way, but if it's done the RB way, it's a travesty.

Spare me. Energy drink money isn't any worse than Volkswagen money, and let's stop pretending it is.

And, of course, no one has answered any of the questions.

I don't think a team has come in 4th with 66 points in last 5 or 6 years at the soonest. Ditto GD and GA. And they lost to Arse in the FA (which, of course, the did a few years ago as well.)

I mean, there are stats to discuss, not just a Brit Tabloid nickname that I've used for years...

England doesn't have facilities, or water towers, like that.

Lol. And if they can’t pay the English premium they are more than happy to overpay for a GK to make up for the difference.

They're converting him from midfield to defense.......whether it works is yet to be seen.

The club seems to have embraced the idea that they can be England's team, with several young national team players in the squad. Unfortunately for them, Liverpool has nearly all of the good ones.

He started out as a central defender for West Ham as an 18yo. That a team that gave up more goals than Chelsea this year played him all season as a midfielder might tell us something about his ability to defend. And he is listed at a just under 6'1, so it's not like he looks the part either.

Paul Berry: There are no water towers or even facilities shown in the picture that I am referring to of Mason Mount, Christian Pulisic and some red-haired individual all wearing Chelsea training suits. What are you talking about? See below.

Christian Pulisic's father would take Christian on "Soccer vacations" where he would take him to train at elite clubs around Europe.

    He'd be a CD in a 3-4-3 and a DM the 4-3-3

Ahhhh ok, so then maybe doubling down on 3-4-3, or at least maintaining that tactical flexibility. Interesting point.

Personally I think the 3-4-3 is silly, and think it's extraordinarily silly to spending this much money on someone who's going to be spending most of his time fighting Kante for minutes, when you have a wide open CB position. Hell you can upgrade both those spots.

And Declan Rice spent some time in Chelsea's academy.

What if he is fighting Jorgi for minutes? TBF Kante didn't give much of a fight for a large part of the season, and has looked a shell of his former self.

It's really stupid letting your academy kids go, then spend millions to buy them back. Whoever is in charge of these decisions need to get chopped. Case in point, Pogba and ManU.

Utd didn't "let him go". Fergie wanted to keep Pogba, and they wanted him to sign a 1 year extension. However, Mino Raiola got in with the family, got to be his agent, and convinced Pogba that he didn't belong at Utd. Hence the move to Juventus on a free - or rather $1M for youth development.
