Pre season training day video. Scrimage starts at 43:00 if you want to skip the standard stuff. Nice to see Nick T and Wes on the same team. Nick T looking very lively and could be a great addition to the squad. Nick playing wide right on the rear line with Wes and Kabak. Wes working the 20 yd ground lasers that JJ made famous at Schalke. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ThGf7hQqKSA
How is a salary cap the MLS model? It's more an American model and the NBA is more prominently known for it. But the MLS model of DP's, TAM, GAM, little free agency, expansion fees, allocation rules, territorial restrictions, closed pyramid, a goal of 30-40 teams, not paying solidarity payments or training comp to non-MLS domestic clubs..... I don't see anyone else adopting that model. As for Liga MX putting pro/rel on hold, both the J League and Chinese Super League have instituted pro/rel. And it appears that's where this new Canadian league will go too. And good luck getting lower division English clubs to be in favor of ending pro/rel. They may want a cap on spending but they certainly want to climb back up the pyramid. I'm sure Bolton as an example who have free fallen from the Prem to League Two and have new ownership want to at least get back up to the C'Ship.
I can't recall any specific major injury but I don't follow the youth teams very closely. In January when he was with the first team he picked some sort of foot injury IIRC.
"Tendon irritation in his foot" was given as the cause in May. May 13, 2020 Before that, he's suffered from time to time from hamstring pain, it seems. 🚨Update on Nick Taitague, an inside source has told me Nick is currently with the u23s to rehab the hamstring injury he suffered at the end of last season. Once healthy, he will be with Schalke’s 1st team this preseason, if he impresses then he’ll stay, if not he’ll go on loan pic.twitter.com/QKxQrD0HKa— Bundimericans (@bundimericans) July 6, 2018 SoccerAmerica has a paywalled article where he talks about it too: https://www.socceramerica.com/publi...ar-nick-taitague-on-his-bundesliga-quest.html From Jan. 11 2019: “It was mentally very challenging this past year just coming back,” Taitague said. “It started in 2017 with my back injury I think that led to a couple of more injuries this past year. I tore my hamstring as well and I had an issue with plantar fasciitis as well. Mentally, it is very challenging but at the same time, I know what I want to do professionally and that is soccer. I am fully committed to dealing with whatever injuries are thrown my way. So far on the way back, I feel good. I am starting to focus on being healthy for one month or then three months." They have seldom gone public with the nature of his injuries in the last two years; May was an exception. Perhaps because it was the foot and not a hamstring? A recurring hamstring issue decreases his value greatly, and Schalke must be counting on selling him at some point. He got extended in February by a year until next summer.
Sheffield United look set to beat West Bromwich Albion to the signing of Wigan Athletic defender Antonee Robinson, according to the Sun. The United Statesinternational is available for a bargain £1.5m following the Latics' relegation to League One
Nova's stat line: 3 key passes, 75 percent passing, 4/8 aerials, and a SofaScore of 7.0(6th) Bofo Saucedo subbed in at minute 66 in Puma's 1-1 draw against Juarez. His stat line: 2 key passes, 4/4 long balls, 17/17 passing, SofaScore(7.0)4th Johnny made the bench for Internacional's latest match.
They should've won, in fairness. They'd been handling Bayern all year but lost Lewandowski for the Final and were simply not the same team without him. And of course, Bayern bought him the next year. Which underscores the point. It's a B1 problem in general. When the most exciting import to the league outside of Bayern is Alex Witsel, that's a problem.
Is Antonee a better fit than Enda Stevens // Sheffield United? I imagine he’d be at least competitive.
I wish he’d gone to RBL. That team was in second in the BL and deep in Champions’ League as is before the restart. I wonder if they made him a serious offer.
Stevens is 30 and really tailed off at the end. Maybe the thinking is they split time 30/70 to keep Stevens fresh, get Antonee up to speed, then Antonee takes over in 21/22?
Here's a player out of nowhere.............. This is the top division in Belgium. 1292529091682414592 is not a valid tweet id 1292573763393945607 is not a valid tweet id
Can I be the first say cap him now on a serious note tho, good for him. Hope he continues to do well. Belgium will be a great proving ground for him. He does well over next couple of seasons and bigger teams / leagues will come knocking
Efford stat line: 88% passing, 3 key passes, 9/14 duels, 3/4 dribbles, fouled 4 Fotmob(8.0)2nd Fotmob and SofaScore listed him as a striker.
Bayern got Lewandowski on a free transfer. Bayern got Goretzka and now Nubel from Schalke on a free transfer. The sad current truth in the BuLi is that if Bayern wants your best players you are better off trying to sell them abroad or just take Bayern's lowball offer. If not, Bayern will cut a backdoor deal, let the contract run out and then sign the player for free.
Another example..................Mats Hummels. Walked away from Dortmund on a free transfer in 2016 to join Bayern Munich. His career is Bayern to Dortmund to Bayern to Dortmund. Bwahahaha!!!! Can you imagine a player going Barcelona to Madrid to Barcelona to Madrid? No. It can't happen. Two fanbases despise you. Anyway, back to Yanks Abroad. 1292871482004189185 is not a valid tweet id
