1 goal in 22 matches. He's not even Martin Braithwaite at the moment.

He can still play around 3 seasons at the top level, if he remains professional of course, the hope here is that he learned his lesson this year and that he really wants to make amends.

I think the ass kicking he got in the press and will keep getting over the summer will do him some good. If he has any heart he's going to come out on fire like Benzema did this year...drop weight...and just get super fit.

I have a good feeling about him for next season. At Madrid your name means nothing...you have to earn your place in the club's history. I know Hazard is not trying to have a bad legacy at his dream club.

Let's just hope the injuries heal fully. The rest is up to him.

Hazard can ******** off. Decent offer comes in, sell. It’s a no brainer.

I’m not banking on a 30 year old next season when his main attribute has gone already.

You know that while waiting for this to happen Vinicuis is rotting away on the bench

How much of Vinicius career will Madrid be willing to sacrifice

I wouldn’t say rotting away (especially with how injured Hazard was this season) but it puts us in a strange spot since Vin isn’t as good on the right and Hazard will be favored over him.

Makes the signing of Hazard all the more strange unless we move him more central but then again we don’t use a 10 or free roaming AM type in our system.

I don't think he ever had that kind of player at Chelsea. Their best scorer was Costa in those league wins and we have had Benz at a high level this season. I was expecting Hazard of 2018-19 and the one we saw in the World Cup. He has good goals/assists contribution in 2018-19 rather than just dribbles and fancy moves. But him coming into the pre-season in that shape was a big red signal and it has been downhill since then.

Hope he redeems himself next season and show the version we saw at the World Cup and with Chelsea in recent years. 10-12 goals in all competitions and 10+ assists playing majority of the next season would be a satisfying scenario given my reduced expectations after his first season.

I agree, but next season starts on September 12th. I just don't see how he can get super fit by then considering that he will most likely be on vacation for a week or two and return overweight.

I don't expect to see the 100M Hazard before 2021.

Hazard has never been the gym type. It's gonna be all downhill from here. Even if he somehow regains form next season, he's in his 30's, his pace and quickness and pace will take a hit. We've seen what it did to Kaka. And even to Bale whose a relatively fit guy.

    I'd say sell.

This is why I no longer have any faith in him. There will be no realistic break. He's go to literally have to fix his body and mentality mid season. The break to recalibrate himself and fix these issues was the four month Covid break and it didn't happen.

He played well against Eibar and Valencia after the restart. Then missed Real Sociedad game due to ankle issue and missed key games like Bilbao away after Espanyol roughened him a bit. Main issue right now seems to be his fragile ankle and that forcing him to play within himself. He doesn't have to worry about getting injured and rough tackles in training so might be doing well there. But it's a different story in actual games.

He needs games, I wouldnt expect him to return back as peak Hazard in game 1 of La Liga, but I think an extended run of games can get him there. We have seen him in very good form before the PSG injury, so there's reason to believe he can still come good for us. Its disappointing how things turned out in his first season but just like Tibo the talent is there and its obvious.

I expect him to return in the best shape of his entire life after the break, it’s the absolute bare minimum to expect after what he pulled last summer.

One would expect Hazard to arrive at his dream club in the shape of his life and ready to go for his idol.

If you say so.. the season begins in a month; I mean literally (Sep 12th).

Add that to the reasons we had a team look completely disinterested and a manager who was on autopilot.

I don't expect him to start playing well until early 2021, injuries may potentially delay that even more. If we are in the same situation this time next year, he should be sold.

I agree with the posters who say that he needs consistent playing time. Zidane's subs suck but his rotations have been quite good.

One of the problems Hazard has are the expectations. People expected him to be the best player on the team, and as far as i'm concerned, he just isn't, on a fit squad with everybody in shape.

Well if he isn't. He costs too much to keep as a sidekick player. Not just monetary costs either. He isnt worth the time taking off the investment in youth made by management.

Perez needs to commit to the transfer policy they made. Give the youngsters the trust. Otherwise what was the point?

Expectations or not, apart from a couple of matches his performances have been Drenthe level. I at least expect him to not be a black hole on the pitch while we have other options that can contribute.

If he's afraid of getting injured then send his ass to a shrink. Bring in Dr. Melfi.

I kept saying this the summer we bought him but the good folks told me that hazard is barely a notch below Neymar and Vinicius can play on the right and they will switch flanks during games etc etc etc.

He was never the player we needed and we broke our transfer record for him. Huge mistake. But now that we have him we have to keep the faith for another season and see if he can actually help us. Right now he contributes less on the pitch than an out of form Lucas V.

Hazard’s issue is that, throughout his entire career, he’s relied on his talent alone to carry him, he’s older now, he’s gotta start working hard as well or else he’s going to find himself in the MLS in two years time.

    He can f**k off.

Tell his agent to start looking for clubs this summer while we can still recoup some money.

Don't need another James or Bale situation here.
