Hazard, when actually playing like Hazard, is excellent in tight spaces, look at the games against Sociedad and Eibar when he beat the record previously held by Robben for the most successful number of dribbles in a single game. Anyways we’ve played an EPL team yesterday, one that he used to run rings around and he was still subpar, I don’t think it has anything to do with the EPL having more space but more much with Hazard’s mental state. I’d give him one more season, Courtois was terrible last year but he’s one of the very best this season.
As if Perez can't use the excuse of being too expensive of an expense on Zidane. He's done it before. He forced him to keep players. Perez wanted him just as much as Zidane did. Both of them misjudged his fit and character to change his mindset.
Comparing KDB and Modric is dumb because they're totally different players. KDB is more of a CAM while Modric plays like a box to box, man is everywhere.
We're looking for productive wing players. Excellent is one thing, but if Hazard hasn't been one thing consistently, it's being productive. Something that is quite important in that position for us.
That's the point. Took him until both players started declining and he was at his peak to get one over them. Absolutely laughable tweet. Modric is levels above both on club and international level.
half of it(if not more) is probably corner. Everytime player makes corner kick or free kick etc, and ball finds teammate its counted as a chance on whoscore, you know that right? Comparing 35 year old Modric on decline to Kevin at his best is funny though. How about we compare when Luka was in prime? Belive me, that wont be that much fun for De Bryune lovers.
Well said Statistics can be so incredibly overrated & most people have no clue how to properly apply or use them
My point is when he is not sucking like he has this year he’s very productive on the wing, he’s not going to score a shit ton of goals like CR obviously but he will create a lot for his teammates, he’s done this consistently for Lille, Chelsea and Belgium for years.
I literally hate this "stat". I'm sure he led the team with most successful number of dribbles yesterday as well. Ugh
No he didn’t, he barely completed one yesterday, anyways I’m bringing it up to disprove the claim that his struggles are down to having less space in la liga, Hazard has never had any trouble operating in tight spaces, his close control is what set him apart from many that play in his position. He is a bust because of injuries, unprofessionalism and weak mental state, not because of lack of space.
I knew all along that Hazard was a bust and I have to laugh at all of you who didn't know he was going to fail. Why can't you be as smart as me? I read all his interviews and his private emails and I know why he sucks so much but I'm going to keep you fools guessing while I laugh. God I'm such a football expert. Are you proud of me mommy? Can I leave the basement already?
IMO not enough relevant info, against which opponents?, maybe he's able to constantly dribble around defenders from Norwich and Bournemouth ( when he played in the EPL) all game long but couldn't get past Laporte once, also dribbling to what end, does it more often than not lead to chances created?, i mean hey, I don't think anyone dribbles more than Isco but........, more context is needed, not just add up how often you dribble,
By itself sure, but when consider the fact that Hazard has also made over 1000 key passes then you see that he’s not been a headless chicken dribbler like a denilson for example. Yes Hazard currently isn’t up to par, I don’t believe anyone has disputed that but using his current form to discredit his previous stats just shows you’re not familiar with the player, I assure you that Hazard’s dribbles were very productive.
Yup, it goes both ways. For me, Vin should have started but considering he did not then should have came on at halftime but then it would negatively impact Hazard I guess if one wants to look at it that way.
So why don't you tell me how many chances our midfielders created from OPEN play and how many did KdB? Also, I've seen plenty of comments on social media from some blind fans, claiming how a 35 yr old Modric or Kroos is still the best MF in world football. This isn't the case anymore and that ending part of the comment was aimed at them.
⚡ "Parece que a los JUGADORES y a ZIDANE NO les ha IMPORTADO quedar ELIMINADOS" ⚡#TomásRONCERO, MUY ENFADADO en #ElChiringuitoDeMega pic.twitter.com/lWz73g76SN— El Chiringuito TV (@elchiringuitotv) August 8, 2020 Normally these guys are clowns, but I think Roncero made some fair points here. He believes the team appeared too timid from top to bottom. Few players seemed to have given it their all. With only 3 fouls, we were soft. At the end of the game, there are few angry or sad faces. The manager as well, sharing an amicable conversation with the ultimate anti-Madridista in Guardiola. Roncero believes the team may have been too satisfied with just winning the Liga title. They all went out on their boats during the short vacation and came back having felt that anything in the CL would just be a bonus rather than a necessity.
Just saw the game...missed it yesterday as I was flying. I'm more disappoint in the way we lost. City was better overall over the two legs but I still think they were there for the taking. The two things I was afraid of unfortunately happened: 1. Varane without Ramos can be super shaky (see last year vs Ajax as an example); 2. Zidane being Zidane...for better or worse this time lol. Over the 2 legs there seemed to be some absolutely easy and logical decisions that he chose not to make that cost us dearly involving Kroos/Mendy in the first leg if I remember correctly, and today Vini and Fede. Given the transition period we're in, I think the season is a success with the great performance in La Liga....but the CL is another story. For the CL you need a serious offense...which as everyone knows is our biggest issue still. 3 big factors for next season: 1/ Hazard better come out from the gate like the absolute monster he has the talent to be; 2/ Fede must be a starter; 3/ Stop messing about and keep ugrading the midfield. It's very easy: Camavinga + Odegaard. Hala Madrid.
