Thx. I have been completely unaware of cbssn having any uefa soccer content. Maybe because they didn’t before now? But my provider’s guide for cbssn shows “major league fishing” from 10-2. I don’t doubt you though, since my guide is often whacked out. I’ll record the slots you mentioned and see what I come up with. It’ll be kind of like fishing after all.
CBS did not have any soccer content prior to securing rights to UEFA Champions League and Europa League...these shows obviously come along with the deal. My source for the tv listings is from Verizon FIOS. I can verify that the CL weekly show did air as scheduled,
Look on page two. UEFA CL Weekly seems very similar to the old UEFA CL Magazine which aired Friday nights at various times across the regional Fox Sports channels. For all I know, it's a retooling thereof. Edit....at the end, the announcer mentioned "This magazine program" so I have no idea why the guide didn't say "magazine." I can almost guarantee that the linear CBS SN will have a ticker during games. Hopefully they'll remove it. If the source feed uses the entire screen, graphics at the bottom could be hard to read. Also, hopefully their ticker won't ruin other games. I just had a terrible flashback to the Fox Soccer Channel one when they would not only run their actual headlines but they'd ruin the score of the game you were watching.
I subscribed, but won't get to watch mid week games live so hopefully they stream games; I also hope that magazine is like a highlights show. I like a good highlights show. I still get Comcast/Xifinity cable due to my family (and college football), but between this, ESPN+, Netflix, I really need to revisit cable subscription.
Typically, at least in my experience, magazine shows show a few highlights, but also focus on the glitz and glamor of the event.
I wonder what happens to their studio team once all of Soccer is running again. Since with the exception of Kate Abdo they almost all work for Sky Sports and all of them are based in Europe.Plus obviously Roberto Martinez has a national team to manage. Once everything is going on again is everyone going to do double duty or are they going to move their studio back to the states and have the likes of Jimmy Conrad and Demarcus Beasley take over with Kate Abdo?
We shall see. Money talks and if the studio stays in Europe it is a cushy job compared to Sky where everything they say is under a microscope and judged. Tabloids analyze everything they say and do. On CBS what is the worst that can happen? A weird email from someone from Bigsoccer complaining about them? Talk about low risk high reward$$.
So for the quarterfinals the CL matches are all on the CBS Sports Network while all the Europa League QFs are only on the app. So it seems CBS are going to treat the Europa like TNT did.
Do you have a link? I am on CBSSN's official website and it does not say they will have CL this week. Pretty cool if true though. *Edit - The matches are showing up as tape delayed though on CBSSN
They also had Guillen Balagué for the Barca match yersterday. I wonder if he will remain a regular or was this a one off. Or maybe just when La Liga clubs are playing(?). Best La Liga analyst/journalist there is IMO .
I think they are going to have all the English speaking European journalists who like to do tv. They had Honigstein giving a report from the pitch for the Bayern match.
Sorry if this has already been discussed, but is the CL Final going to be on a TV channel?? Edit: Answering my own question... it appears to be on CBS SN, in my guide
Does CBS have rfights to Europa League? (I.e. This week’s MD1 group stage matches) And if so, is there any way to stream if your cable lineup includes various cbs channels?
I assume so. The matches are listed on the CBS all access platform (click Sports -> Europa League -> Schedule) "All are available to watch live on CBS All Access and will also be available on demand shortly after the final whistle. (Note: due to the significant number of matches, Europa group stage matches may take additional time before they appear on demand.) Group play will commence on Thursday, Oct. 22, and run until Thursday, Dec. 10. After a draw for the Round of 32 on Monday, Dec. 14, the knockout stages will pick back up on Thursday, Feb. 18 and run until the final on Wednesday, May 26. In addition to every UEFA Europa League match listed below, CBS All Access subscribers visit the UEFA Europa League page also get: - CBS Sports HQ Pre-Match Show starting on the live feeds at 12:00am ET on group stage match days. - CBS Sports HQ Post-Match Show starting on the live feeds at 6:00pm ET on group stage match days. - Match highlight, goal compilation, and interview clips available to stream on demand. - UEFA Europa League Magazine Show, with new episodes available to stream on most Saturdays."
Pretty annoyed by the stream quality. No buffering or glitches, but a low quality compared to espn, peacock, etc. Thought we'd be in 4k if you'd asked me in 2015 where we'd be by now, but it's worse.
How awful is CBS's timing today? They started the Juve game 3 minutes late, cut into the 2nd half a minute late, as Juve were scoring. Cutting off the studio show in mid sentence, etc. for commercials. What a terrible first impression.
They're showing both Chelsea - Sevilla and Krasnodar - Rennes games in wrong streams. Not really a problem (just pick the other string), but annoying.
The Rennes-Krasnodar and the Chelsea-Sevilla streams are mixed up on CBS All Access [emoji2359] EDIT: Now both are playing Rennes-Krasnodar. Even worse. [emoji2359][emoji2359] UPDATE: They finally had it 5 minutes in.
