Yup. He's solid but i think, unless he suddenly blossomed in a way he hasn't signaled to date - if we were to rely on him at the 9 as our starter... We will have taken a material step back in productivity, imho...
His best role in my opinion is to come in against tired legs after Duvan batters and bruises up opposing defenses. He has as much physicality as Duvan and is faster in transition. I doubt most teams would be able to keep up with him late in games.
Another thing I like about him is he wants to take penalties in big moments. I remember he was really ticked off when he was not allowed to take penalties this year for Koln. If reports are true about the Copa America Duvan wanted nothing to do with penalties. (Not sure that report is true but it is what I have heard.)
the face of a serious guy that now speaks german and enjoy the german summer 🤙 @Jhoncordoba4 #effzeh pic.twitter.com/HpWamNvVEn— 1. FC Cologne (@fckoeln_en) August 19, 2020
I wonder how Wilmar communicates in Zenit, I doubt he speaks much Russian. I do know Zenit have a few argie's now
I have a feeling, Colombian footballers don't really try hard to learn a language outside of English, Portuguese and French. (Italian if you Ivan Ramiro Cordoba) But German, Russian, Slavic, or Nordic languages, and much less Mandarin or Arabic, yeah won't happen.
Mandarin and Arabic don’t have letters..... hard to figure that shit out when you probably have to train 10 hours a day then have a family. Like how much fatter have you gotten since you started working a real job
Soto and ramos spoke german very well... Mao molina with korean... It depends If they continue hiring colombians despite some puntual cases....is because the most have good attitude
They do, they are called characters. They are just different than what we are used as speakers of a Romance language Speaking of players that do not adapt. Gio Moreno has been in China for a good amount of time. He is a star there and has been consistent with his game.
If Lukaku can play at Inter and Manchester United, I think Cordoba can play for a better team the FC Kolonge
Pfff....stupid comparison Lukaku the player that have a better first season than ronaldo, crespo, batistuta, adriano, ibrahimovic, milito in inter We would love to have a player close to good to lukaku.....and neither duvan is at his same level
Cordoba can be the poor man's Lukaku though. Especially since I think his speed can really give CBs problems similar to when Lukaku gave problems to opposing CBs in the Europa league. The Belgian looked his best to me ironically in the stadium where Cordoba plays.
Different levels of talent but his speed and strength have given good German teams problems this past season. I think those attributes can also give problems to South American teams in Qualifying. But there is only one way to find out.
Cordoba and Lukaku are miles apart as players. Cordoba is in every way a target 9 and Lukaku although he has the frame and bullies opponents like a target man is really at his best coming from wide and on the run rather then with his back to goal or holding up play. Lukaku is so effective because he is very different from traditional 9's his size, it also is a weakness at times when he has to face deep defending blocks, its also why he looks so good in Conte and Belgium's 3-5-2 systems because they create space and counter attacking chances by having more of the build up and players sitting deep and drawing out the opposition. Cordoba ain't that, he's good but he's more of a grifter who does the dirty work and finishes off with service from teammates almost exclusively.
In some of the matches I have seen Cordoba has had good counters utilizing his speed but yes he primarily is the guy they do long passes to centrally and he gets the ball almost every single time with back towards goal. One of the best at doing that in his league.
I guess it just comes down what your opinion to what you rate Lukaku, I absolutely think he's trash, just big a strong and push people away from him.
LOL and contributes his team with 35 goals in a season... dont remeber the last time a colombian did that for his team..... When an opinion disregards football....
