Now, what is CBS All Access?

 

It's CBS's streaming service. As mention in the random thoughts thread, TNT/Bleacherreport no longer have the rights to European club football (which is why B/R deleted all their CL/EL related content recently from their YT channel). CBS (and affiliates) has the rights now: the main channel will show one match here and there, whereas the rest of the slate will be available only on their streaming service.
Thank God for Spanish speaking channels, where most of the games will be available there anyhow. Never had too many complaints about FOX's coverage (as it was pretty thorough with FS1-2) but I'm sorry if I ever badmouthed them. We definitely had it good under them, as opposed to now...

I’d rather watch in Spanish than Fox, at least there’s no Alexi Lalas.

Don't disagree with that part at all but the main point was in regarding to the extent of the coverage. It was not perfect, but compared to what we've seen since, it was FAR better than what we had with TNT and apparently what will be in store with CBS (unless you have CBS All Access).

No Levitt, but Ethan Galbraith is in. I'm pretty despondent about this tbh. Levitt might just not be sharp enough or carrying an injury, but I would take a dead Levitt over Galbraith, who always strikes me as being a dark grey player name on FM.

Back to the B/R v. CBS All Access topic for a second: of course we're back in the CL just as it leaves TNT/BR. I was so looking forward to our being mocked in The Champions web series

 

Thank God TNT no longer has it. They were pitiful in every respect. So, now it's between Hispanic tier ($8.99/month, TV) vs. CBS streaming ($5.99/month, phone.)

 

You don’t get Univision over the air?

 

Yes, but EL is on GALA which isn't over the air. I'll subscribe to my cable company's Latin tier when the season starts because of the variety of football those channels show. Think I'll go with the free trial month of CBS for today's game.

 

Maguire is a real head scratcher.

 

Maguire doesn’t need to start if Mengi is available. Nice to see Ole keep the foot on the gas but damn.

 

Maybe he asked to play

 

Wasn't even expecting Dalot to start. But feel really bad for him for him not even making the matchday squad for this one (he's a player who better get his move this summer). Was actually really hoping for a Laird, Bailly, Timmy and Williams back 4 (with Mengi coming on once the game was wrapped up). As such Mag's selection is all the more disappointing.
No reason at all for him to play here: he's obviously very durable and sturdy but with all the minutes he's already logged, giving him this game off just made sense. Not to mention that if he suffers any kind of freak injury, then we could be in serious trouble, with our CB options down to bare bones.
And it's a very good bet he'll play the full 90, regardless of the result today...

FC Copenhagen in the next round it will be for today's winner after they comfortably dispatch Istanbul 3-0.

 

Given next game is 5 days time, think Ole will want many to get minutes so squad are sharp for Monday game.
