Staying in England makes the most sense with regards to maximizing his wages. Even if he has to drop down to the Championship. MLS teams spending big money on RBs doesn’t make a ton of sense.
I agree though I'd personally like him to try another league but those English wages are hard to turn down.
I just want to see him land on a team that lets DY be DY. He's managed to survive in the EPL playing for some good managers that demand he play in a very tactical and disciplined manner. It is ONE way of making up for technical deficiencies. But I still think the best way for DY is to let him loose on the wing to create and take advantage of chaos (or should I say fluidity) on his side. To me DY is a baller...he doesn't always get it right but has the speed and effort to recover from mistakes and can create chances wen he and his team apply pressure.
He's a perfect fit for MLS at this point in his career. His pace will allow him to make up for his defensive deficiencies again. He would be money well spent for MLS IMHO.
Yedlin still has plenty to offer over in Europe. He was fine at Newcastle this year and with a different manager he probably wouldn't kept his place there. Fulham or another promoted side would be a great place for him. MLS can wait until he is in his 30's.
I guess we'll see. He'll be available for a song, so anyone who really rates him should be able to afford him. I would wager that none of the EPL sides will want him. He'd also thrive in the Championship IMHO.
IMO, the Championship, outside the top teams, is basically a lateral move for MLSers. The only difference is that they have more eyes on them there. Still, it's become a sort of bog for our guys: once there, they're stuck there.
https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/spo...newcastle-transfer-notes-lazaro-deal-18774638 DeAndre Yedlin has triggered a contract negotiation based on the number of games he has played for Newcastle United. The wing-back's current deal expires next summer and, having bought into life at Newcastle, on and off the field, he is keen to reclaim his place and earn a new contract. Extending Yedlin's contract, even by a year, would cover Newcastle's back whatever happens. The United States international is a well-liked member of the dressing room but if, say, a suitable loan offer came in, a temporary move away would allow Yedlin to get regular game time and Newcastle could then review the situation a year later rather than losing the player on a free. ChronicleLive understands that Newcastle would consider letting Yedlin leave if there was a move that worked for all parties.
DeAndre Yedlin is reportedly set to fight for a new contract at #NUFC despite being linked to #MLS and the #Bundesliga. #USMNT https://t.co/8SiswMUc6E— SBI Soccer (@SBISoccer) August 16, 2020
I would love to see him with an upper half table team in the BL. In the Prem, we never saw what he could do with an attacking side. The one season he did get to do with, with Newcastle when they won the Championship, he had his best season per WhoScored, getting a 7.05 Obviously he also faced worse competition as well. But his has been a curious career. Meant to be an attacking fullback, probably not though of as good enough defender to be an attacking fullback for a team that's gonna attack first.
fwiw, at least it bumps up the thread! https://www.reuters.com/article/us-...t-wants-to-buy-newcastle-united-idUSKBN25H2CG
Large megacorporations giving fake addresses and fake phone numbers for their main offices in certain countries has become fairly common. You'd be surprised how many times we have found out the supposed "office" doesn't even exist, because, say it's #810 and the building only has eight per floor. What happens is that they declare to be based in certain countries for tax purposes, when in reality they have nothing there. That should be highly illegal but nothing that cannot be fixed by paying the right people. And such payments are a fraction of what they'd have to spend in taxes were they to admit their offices are on foreign soil only.
The photoshopped Obama thing reminds me of travelling in China. Middle aged and older guys would ask to take selfies with me. I asked why and was told that the photo would show up in some marketing materials for the guys company. They want to show that they do business with westerners (even when in reality they don’t). Women would also ask for selfies with me and I always assumed this was because of my good looks. Just an assumption, I didn’t ask about that. Lol
Something similar happened to me in Poland nearly a decade ago. I was biking around Warsaw, had a flat snd went to get it fixed. I ran into a guy who asked me to visit Szcesin (i always misspell this city) to be in a film. It sounded good and I was low on money and i had my phone stolen recently so I decided to take the chance. He even provided me train tix there and back. Turns out it was no film. I (and 3 others, a Polish girl, a Mongolian girl who was probaby low-key and a Polish-born Vietnamese guy) was having our photos taken to appear on a catalog to show that this university was very diverse and multicultural. Easiest cash I ever made. I recall going to a nightclub with my new Asian friends and dancing with a bride out for her bachelorette party. Fun night. I wasn't always so boring but I was always annoying
FWIW most of the Yedlin chatter now is NUFC talking about an extension. They bought/may be buying a Greek LB (folks were hoping for Jetro...) but it sounds like DY might be staying the season with a look to sell when the market revives a bit.

Well, the coaches all say that it's the hardest league to get out of. It wouldn't be that different for the players either.
There is tons of time in the transfer window. The English window is open until Oct. 5 for international transfers, and then additionally until Oct. 16 for domestic transfers.
