that was his older bro Timothy who back in 2019 said he wanted to go to USA camp, didn't seem like he went and still hasn't switched either.

recall some American fans (likely) asked Malik on instagram about playing for USA and he answered he plays for Germany and put German flag. Of course like almost duals I don't think he'd close any doors but USA isn't his priority besides if he plays for USA it's permanent switch as he's provisionally capped by Germany.

even that USA U15 call up is sketchy anyways. Because dfb didn't call up 02s until 2017 to play U15 while USA called him up 1 full year before any start to dfb U15s for 02s. An early call up before Germany started didn't work.

 

Good info Thx. Sounds like this is farfetched. Seems like he's really progressing to the point where he'll continue to be involved with Germany, and he'll likely only consider the USA (if he considers us at all) if he isn't good enough for them. Oh well.

Went back and watched the inner squad scrimmage (the one where Richards started at CB) and Malik came on for the "first team" in the final 20 minute period and scored a nice goal. Granted, it was essentially against his second team squad mates, but it's the little things.

Not too much went on afterwards though.

 

no that scrimmage wasn't against II team it was against U19 players. It was basically the players added to CL squad+the non-CL player 1st teamers aka back ups+new additions vs U19 players. Tillman can still play U19 anyways and played for both sides. Some other players also played both.

as for Tillman he's been officially added to Bayern CL squad for 2019-2020 season.

 

I knew the situation of the match and the training situation and all that goodness. I didn't see him on the other side though (mostly focused on Richards). Are you sure he played with the U19s during that match too? He didn't have on the same kit that the U19s wore.

 

they played 3 20 min halves.
from people who watched the entire thing and who made XIs for both sides for all 3 halves. Tillman was in U19 for the first 2 20 min and in the final 20 he played with the 1st teamers and that's where he scored.

this thing doesn't really matter anyways, it's more of a boost for U19 players to play vs older and a lot of the u19 players were also U17 player last season. It's also been said that the U19 team was better in the 1st half and even portions of the 2nd half until the physicality of the older players started to kick in, lol.

The kid got a winner's medal for being on the bench once? Wow.

Couldn't be happier though for Davies, what a great story and an unbelievable future for him. How Bayern knew to pluck him out of Vancouver is pretty amazing.

 

Tillman was added to the A team list for CL in Summer and was with the 1st team the entire CL Portugal restart. All the young players who were there part of the team in the stands won a medal. Training for weeks with the team too.
