How can anyone be surprised? No bubble for D2 and Galaxy are from a heavily populated area. It's a physical sport. No masks. Eleven? Not a shocker. Hope our guys are healthy.
Sooooo, 16 or our 23 players took part against LA II. Following recommended COVID-19 protocols, shouldn't tomorrow's match also be postponed?
If they all tested negative on Wednesday (when they supposedly got a second test), they should be clear as any infections would have been detectable by then. A lot of the recommended protocols assume that people can't test promptly and/or can't get results back quickly.
Halftime. Pretty dire first half for both teams. No real quality chances for anyone. We can't break the SD press, but fortunately they have no ideas when they have the ball.
Republic shows some really nice build-up play, I like how they can attack from the flanks one trip down the field and up the middle the next. Then there are some beautiful long balls, whether in the air or on the ground. However, there's just nothing there in the final 18. It's like they lose all feel for the game. Again another season of this.
Timbers 2 have lost each of their four games by a minimum of three goals. Since the restart, they've lost to Tacoma twice, 3-0 and 4-0, and lost to Reno 4-1. Anything less than a two goal victory will be a disappointment.
Ugh, that was the least exciting game I've watched since, um, last week against SD. T2 has given up no fewer than three goals a game all season and we could only muster two shots on goal. Feel bad for their keeper on that own goal. Alas, not Cam's 50th but the squad still up 1-0. 💪#PORvSAC pic.twitter.com/q9P2z4zdHs— Sacramento Republic FC (@SacRepublicFC) August 9, 2020
Wel,, three points is three points. That aside, we ain't going very far in this league if we have to rely on consistent shutouts to win or tie games. BTW - Sargis' yellow card was a farce.
