It's not about the nationality of the people doing the job. It's about the overall standard of sports medicine. I've heard some horror stories from players who have played there.
Dear lord, Big soccer is a fickle bunch. Pulisic might have secured POTY and we are already worried about him being benched. He could very well be out a few weeks. We don’t know yet. Let’s celebrate the masterclass of a session he’s had.
I have to wonder if that hammy might have gotten tight at the half and wasn't quite loose yet. I don't think he is at glass cannon levels but this is something he is going to have to work on with strength and conditioning and stretching. Sure hope it isn't too serious and he has already begun treatments. CL is nbd. CFC did not have much chance down 3-0 to BM. Needs to get healthy and begin training with the team when prep for 2020/2021 starts.
I thought it was the English who were plotting to destroy "soccerrrr", first of all by getting rid of the word "soccer" which no Englishman would ever use.
Literally texted my friend about him "he just needs to stay healthy"... happened 5 seconds later. Feel for the guy, just can't stay on the pitch. Hopefully it's minor and he's back in contention, maybe only in a sub role, for the start of the season.
Did we ever find out what the injury was that supposedly kept him out of the FA Cup semi-final? Was his injury today at all related to that?
Judging by the vids of him standing in the tunnel, moving, no crutches it’s probably no worse than a Grade 2 so that would mean 4 to 8 weeks out. That’s about as good of a time as any for this to happen. We are acting like Werner and Ziyech will come right Into the PL flying. Both will need an adjustment period and one will probably be a flop. CP is a mainstay in this team if he’s more healthy than not. He just played a ton of games 3/4 days apart and played well.
For the moment given as a "hamstring strain," nothing too serious. But he still has to be scanned. On the injuries, Lampard says Azpi and Pulisic have hamstring strains which need scanning but they won't be fit for next weekend. Pedro might have a dislocated shoulder but that is not certain yet. That is all from the boss here. #HeadsUpFACupFinal— Chelsea FC (@ChelseaFC) August 1, 2020 I hope it's just that. I was raging before.
Well, that game rather sucked. It has to be among the worst high level games I've ever watched. Weird reffing calls, too many injuries, too many stoppages of play, sucky defending.
They just count penalties drawn as an assist. Which is frankly much more accurate if you are looking for total goal impact.
I don't really understand why people would rather the assist stat NOT include PK fouls drawn that end up being converted...? I guess if the player in question also scores the goal then it is like they are assisting themselves... but I guess I would be OK with that too. But not many plays out there are more assist worthy than drawing a foul in the box and setting up a play that gets converted 75% of the time. Back to CP... If he only misses the CL game and is able to start the season with the team I will count myself lucky. It seems like he was their only chance to "mount" a comeback against Bayern but it was always going to be a long-shot... especially with this porous D. Chelsea needs a stud CB so bad it borders on the ridiculous and then need a much better option at LB/LWB.
The best thing about the word soccer is that no Englishman any longer ever use it. Of course, the next best thing about soccer is that the Scots taught the Angles to play it right. And much as any decent Englishperson (were there any) might wish to divorce themselves from Old Hall et al... "The Carthusian (“soccer”, October 1886), The City of London School Magazine (“Soccer”, November 1886), The Oxford Magazine (“Socker”, February 1887), and Lancing College Magazine (“Soccer”, June 1887)..." they are stuck with their traditional insitutions of "higher" learning. Sorry chum.
