You need to know the financial situation of the club. I like Dzeko's hold up play but he is getting another year older and slower, while our midfield is not strong at scoring so at times we find ourselves having no option in the box when Dzeko comes down to midfield and deliver a good ball to the wings. I want someone who can dribble and go run in the frontline, one more mobile and so our frontline won't be always steady. Lasagna is IMO an underrated budget option, yell as you like but wake up after your sweet dream.
I was all for shipping out Edin a year ago, but I gotta give it to him and Kolarov. 2 players I was very critical of both effort and performance wise, both still cornerstones of the team. I still think Dzeko is a lazy ******** but you can't deny his talent or impact. I don't see the point of getting rid of him at this point. We won't get a good transfer fee and he is well worth his wages.
What we desperately need is a younger ST that can come in a take the job from Dzeko or at the very least prove he can be a reasonable substitute.
Kevin is a decent player but not what Roma need. If we had a ST that was 28 or 29 and Lasagna was a squad player he'd be perfect. What we need is someone that can grow into a starter and I'm just not sure Kevin is that guy.
Matrim has a bigger picture point. His guts on the pitch carries us over the line to champions league. He was badly missed. Zaniolo will in all likelyhood be gone quickly and the memories will be short to make up for the money missed. It's a 1 forward 2 back approach thinking you're getting rid of an issue but reality is the team goes nowhere. This should be a valuable lesson for any DS as a case study in how not to make changes to a squad.
I wouldn’t say “I would like to stay but it’s up to the clubs” is pushing that hard. Especially with corona affecting the market there seems to be a big gap in our evaluations. I can’t see us letting him go for anything less than 22-25 million which they seem unlikely to pay.
Torino interested in Schick https://t.co/SbsocFLK63— RomaPress (@ASRomaPress) July 30, 2020 We dont want him back.
There could be some interesting swap deals with Torino. I don't think Schick for Lyanco would be impossible. Belotti would be a dream, but probably nothing more than that.
Tottenham are working to sign Pierre-Emile Højbjerg from Southampton. Talks still on between the two clubs to find an agreement. No chance for Zaniolo - Roma are not going to sell him. ⚪️ #THFC #Spurs #transfers— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) July 30, 2020
As much as I liked him last summer, Lyanco has failed miserably to establish himself in a 3 man backline, twice. His only good stint was on loan for 6 months at Bologna who played a high pressing 4-man backline. I don’t know if this is a coincidence or not, but if we are going to keep this system then we should probably look elsewhere.

Look, I dont mind Smalling. He has been decent for us, but like I said before, I really think we can do better with the kind of cash we're talking about here. For starters, Ibanez looks like he could have a bit about him.
