Questionable pen in that those are not usually given (though they should be). However, the lead is deserved.
Mancini is best on the right hand side though when he can get forward and help in the buildup. And Smalling is not that great with his left/refuses to use it.
Deserved I guess although our finishing was horrible and can't keep a clean sheet due to falling asleep on defense again.
Dzeko got his shot away cleanly and I'm not even sure he got more than brushed. I'd rather not be given those. They really do make reffing more complicated. How is VAR not reviewing that
Strong performance and deserved win although I’m not sure about the 2nd penalty. Kolarov was outstanding, 10 out of 10 performance. Dzeko hustled for both goals, so kudos to him. The team would have been on a 6 game winning streak if it wasn’t for Spina’s blunder against Inter, they certainly came a long way since the horror show against Udinese.

If you get clattered outside the box after getting a pass away, it's a foul. It's never been logically consistent that you can get taken out in the box, but it's not a pen because you got a shot off. If they want to clarify the application so that penalties/inside the box is not supposedly the same as outside the box, I'm willing to listen.
Yes VAR needs to be addressed. Key incidents I have called all season need to be reviewed and you put the ref on the spot and make him accountable. VAR was brought it to take away doubt but it's not being used consistantly. Regards the first part, I'm dont believe he got clattered at all here. Clash of shin pads sounds bad but the incident itself was not pen worthy. Both came together equally. That's 50 50. We've entered a slippery slope with reffing at this moment.

It's nice to have a left and right on either side but is it necessary? I think he'd make out ok and we wouldnt have to worry about being beaten in the air like kolarov is. Kolarov is great on the ball from here but if we have a sweeper who is carrying the ball up the pitch then that's covered somewhat.
I'd prefer to have a lefty on the left whenever possible. Its more natural for them and there are better angles for passing compared to a righty who doesn't use their left foot in my opinion. That's why I don't understand it when Spinazzola says he prefers the left side of defense to the right side as a right footed player.
Pretty shit game and that 2nd pen was laughable....but we were just about worth the 3pts I would say.
