He looks RB’ish to me. Got ‘megged for a Spurs goal. Schar giveaway put Newcastle in a tough spot leading to the goal. Yedlin isn’t the best defender straight up or denying crosses. Just as I posted this, he was quite advanced on wing and gave ball away kind of clumsily.

Well, Newcastle is playing for nothing. This may be Deandre's swan song.

PS: And I was typing that the Mags tie it up. Right after DY got out.

Only tuned in for the halftime recap, but Yedlin was getting a lot of criticism for Spurs' goal.

And just as I say that, Yedlin gets subbed out early in the second half.

Yedlin subbed out at 54’. Not surprised.

Off in the 55th for Lazaro, just after he made an aggressive run and almost got on the end of a cross 1-0 Spurs.

1-1 now goal scored after a bad clearance following a nice Lazaro run.

I wasn’t watching the match closely but it seemed like his team mates don’t see him as much of an option when they have the ball.

Yedlin is certainly done at Newcastle. It will be interesting to see where he lands. He has elite pace and I think there is some recent-ism here with respect to his ability to defend and attack/pass. He is not nearly as bad as some make him out to be... but he has certainly stunk up the joint since the FA Cup train wreck game. It kind of seemed like the "straw" for him. At any rate... I think the USMNT has a lot of good options at RB and RWB... so if Yedlin never finds the form that made him a bit of a sensation for a while then perhaps he can still have a nice career in the MLS. IMO, the USMNT doesn't really need him.

Yedlin's greatest accomplishment in these forums was managing to get, for the first time ever, a near consensus from us about preferring an MLS RB (Cannon) over him, a RB in a top European league, and that even when he was still starting.

I think Yedlin actually managed that already once back in 2014 when he was in MLS and he convinced most of us that he should at the least be preferred over Tim Chandler as our backup RB.

Is kind of interesting that Rafa preferred him (most of the time) but Bruce did not.

Tough season for DY, esp after the break. Hope he finds a good home.

Guy is fast but doesn't seem to think like a footballer.

Well, that’s a high standard if a player who just turned 27 and has 4 full seasons and 98 appearances in the EPL is just not a footballer

FMS accounts are usually for Football Manager Simulations.

So unless I see it somewhere else, I'm not taking it seriously.

Makes more sense than NUFC giving him 3 more years.

Things usually go against the consensus of many on BigSoccer, so this makes perfect sense. :ROFLMAO:
