Which is why people are saying he should start for Colombia even after playing one game since October.

    I rest my case.

But not because his season wasn't bad. It's because of his qualities and because he has proven himself over and over and over with the NT.

But his season was shit...for a Colombian or not

Given the context and expectations for James it was bad.

Given my expectations for a Colombian 21 year old in Spain Cucho's stats are not bad.

If he becomes as good as Muriel in the next 3 or 4 years I'll be happy.

No one would be happier than me if he had world class potential, I've been following him since he was 15 years old and I saw a lot of maturity for his age when he played for Pereira, but between injuries and counterproductive loans his progress has stopped a bit. I still think he can be a very good player, maybe not an out and out forward, but definitely a good asset for a european playing team, an offensive player capable of doing a bit of everything. I've also followed Muriel since he was a teenager and I thought that he would be our next global superstar, but as you can see, he's only shown glimpses of the extraordinary stuff he's able to do. He's lacked a team that really gave him all the responsibility and made him the main man.

As for James he needs to GTFO of Real Madrid. I've been telling that for 5 years.

To think how emotional it was for Colombians the day he signed for Real Madrid having come off a great world cup.

So many Colombians had such pride and excitement for the future of us with this sport. James being set up to have such an impact for Colombia and a good sign for things to come.

Yet here we are, our "best" player has been reduced to a less glorious status and is even forgotten amongst the top players in the world. I was really happy when Bayern got him and valued him like he should have been in his later years with Real.

But look at him now. He's just at this club for the ride of trophies and won't be remembered for them because he did little to nothing. It's sad really when remembering that he's 29 and likely has just 1 more world cup cycle left after 2022 if he's lucky and he's more restricted in cementing his legacy for being in the argument for being the best Colombian player of all time. He was already on his way to be undisputed but now a days I wonder if he should even deserve that status with how he's approached his career in recent years.

I hope that James gets back on track and makes that statement that he deserves to be recognized as our greatest player of all time because of what he brought to the game...

I hope James is on the 2026 World Cup Roster.
I would pay a good price to fly to New Jersey and see him Celebrate on the bench winning another title.

    (I kid, I kid.)

he isn’t getting called he basically quit the team.

he, Zidane and Real have nothing to gain or lose.

his value is nothing now, coach hates him
And why force the coach to call him?

even if he starts all the games remaining and wins them the champions league his value will not
    Increase

he and Bale are deadweight and they are dumping both come the summer. James is Just being a bitch about it

Hopefully James gets a move ASAP so he can get a proper pre-season with his new team. Don't wait around for a chance for another trophy from the stands and hopefully his agent has options and a plan already lined up. His transfer fee should be at its lowest, so that should facilitate more options, hopefully he was already negotiating.

Seeing David Silva wrap up his 10 year run at Man City is something else. Every season he played in over 35 games and only played less than 40 games twice. Quite the reliable player and form over that time. He will go down as an all time great for the club

Is it too much to ask for that James can go somewhere and leave that kind of legacy? Even injury prone Robben has a [emoji238] legacy with Bayern.

    Sigh....

The problem of james is beyond to be a injury prone......actually that "problem" is new.....if he have failed since 2014 is beyond his injuries.

Yah. I don't think that's the right spot for him either... Or the league for that matter.

Get him in Calcio or Bundesliga and he'll look like the world beater he can be in the right system.

James was HORRENDOUS with Colombia in the Copa America, specially that game against Chile.

We keep enabling these lazy players but lets be honest thats what james is. a Lazy player.
So he has a spot no matter what and he expects it and when he doesnt get it their will be issues within the team

    Stop the revisionism.

He was good against Argentina and great against Qatar.

He played horribly against Chile like most of the team tho, when it really counted

I understand why he gets preferential treatment but with all honesty the man has not been a professional footballer in some time. Not all of it is his fault but he does have a part in it. Its as if the world has to wait on him to meet the right combination of events -coach that likes him, no injuries.

we are not going to have him around much longer and im afraid he never solidified

I’ve said my views in the past of that Chile game.

Starting Medina and Falcao instead of Duvan/Arias was our downfall. I don’t even say this as a Monday morning quarterback but the way the lineups were rotating and subs were happening, the logical start for the Chile game was Duvan/Arias.

Personally I don’t remember James doing anything wrong that day but once those VAR goals started happening, we fell apart and got nervous and let Chile run all over Medina.

I've blocked that game from my mind, honestly, so I can't comment on it. I remember being infuriated with the entire squad and Colombian futbol in general...

I certainly agree that ego has been a huge part of James's decline. It's a shame. However, I don't recall any coaches or reports saying that he's lazy.

I remembered in that game that the main problem and our weakest side was right with medina....the guy was so easy to cancel and to attack by his side....

James was unconfoetable on the pitch but that isnt true that he sucked and was horrible

This guy praxis always have a myth about performances of players....like the "a lot of misses chances of falcao in wc 2018"
