There is only so much time and money, the more time Biden spends in Texas, the less time he will spend in Michigan, and so forth. There will have to be calculated risks on expanding the map.
I have to admit that no matter how much I despise him personally, Kanye's music is pretty great. Nick Cave kinda nailed it:
I'm a big a fan of the Sun Tzu saying: 'Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake' But damn, I can't be that callous - this is getting way too many people killed.
Ditto. I guess he was once a good artist, but he's 43 now, there aren't any nostalgia concerts happening, he might as well troll and keep his name up there.
Greatest artist is a serious stretch......I won't go anywhere to that statement. He was on top of his game 10 / 12 yrs ago and one of his albums was a collector's item. lately though he has not done much that worth raving about.
Gonna be honest here.. I think the Dems should stay laser focused on the battlegrounds. While I certainly understand the appeal of expanding the map, but for the Presidential campaign, I think the risk is pretty high that things will be missed like they were with the Hillary campaign. I'd much rather see the Dems spending their money lower down the ballet than running up the score for President.
The problem is, there isn't anything Dems can really do to interrupt him making a mistake when his allies control the Senate and many of the hardest hit areas and are pounding the poisoned kool-aid right alongside him.
That's all well and good - but the house can make a big deal about all these dead folks. That's more what i was getting at - even if the last go round it was pretty much political theatre. I'm just sickened by the federal response and the impact on peeps lives whether they are self aware enough to understand what exactly is happening to them.
Well they are spending loads of money in the battlegrounds (unlike HRC) But it makes sense to expand the map - if you can win one of those states, you can make up for a loss elsewhere
Brutal numbers across the board: Quinnipiac poll:On handling the economy, Biden leads 50–45%On handling a crisis, Biden leads 57–38%On handling health care, Biden leads 58–35%On the coronavirus response, Biden leads 59–35%On addressing racial inequality, Biden leads 62–30%— Kyle Griffin (@kylegriffin1) July 15, 2020 First time Biden's led on the economy fwiw.
You beat me to it. Those numbers are brutal......How long before the elected GOPers start running for the hills? The overall number -Biden leads by 15- 52/37. Uh, nevermind for now Biden leads by 15 points nationwide, 52 to 37 percent in the Quinnipiac poll. It's Biden's largest lead in a national survey since he secured the nominationhttps://t.co/4Uv6RPXKLG— Nate Cohn (@Nate_Cohn) July 15, 2020
The problem is that Trump and Co are completely mishandling the biggest issue of the election. BLM is just seasoning to tens of thousands of people getting infected and hundreds dying every single day and Trump and Co are literally doing nothing.
Yea, I think you're right. This is the first sustained hit to Trump's numbers we've seen in 4 years, and I'm still struggling to come to terms with that. It's a pandemic of course, but still highly unusual because his support has been utterly inelastic for the most part. That's why I thought it was a combo of things - and perhaps the BLM movement is permanent as well, and now the new center is Biden at +10
I think Quinnipiac's been one of Biden's more favorable pollsters throughout the cycle, but that is still a new high. Some of their breakdowns are bit surprising: Black: Biden 77% Trump 7% Hispanic: Biden 45% Trump 35% If you just told me Biden had those numbers, I probably wouldn't assume that he is +15 overall.
I think BLM was baked into Trump's numbers before it even started. The attacking the protestors outside the White House to get a 5 minute photo op standing in front of the church was a typical Trump scandal that would hurt his numbers for a period of time and then the next scandal overshadows it. The problem is, the pandemic response can't go away. It was overshadowed a bit by the BLM protests at the start, but when the protests stopped being covered, the pandemic came right back to the forefront and that's not going away.
Unless the sample for Black and Hispanic is too small, I find those numbers rather rosy for Trump. No way Biden will get less than 85% of there black vote. The hispanic vote should be around 65% for him as well. So Trump numbers can still get worse.
