I think you are also missing the point. You are reacting against something that isn't even being argued. Can we not talk about Lalas being a tool? I don't think thats something nearly anyone would disagree with.
I think this guy is somewhere between an 8 and a 10. He receives the ball really well, and can progress it. Makes quick, smart decisions. Active on both sides of the ball. I don't know about his play in the final third (how offensively talented is he?), but he fits extremely well in a 4-3-3 that has a 6 in front of a LCM and a RCM. Brenden Aaronson’s ability to receive the ball is very good, whether that’s on the half turn or with a drop of the shoulder, he’s able to operate well in tight spaces to escape pressure or open opportunities for himself pic.twitter.com/ntxDYMxhxY— Sanjiv (@USMNTvideos) July 12, 2020 Makes no sense to me either. His lack of consistent minutes in the last few seasons has ruined his chance to go to Europe. I find it strange... pic.twitter.com/2l8nLquhg1— Matthew Doyle (@MattDoyle76) July 13, 2020 isn't an automatic starter pic.twitter.com/RPhs2J3aVx— Matthew Doyle (@MattDoyle76) July 13, 2020 If he keeps playing like this he'll have a good shot at starting for the U-23s. From there it's all about locking down minutes and continuing to progress. But he's got athleticism + skill + reps. No reason he shouldn't be in that discussion.https://t.co/fUSHY44gYT— Matthew Doyle (@MattDoyle76) July 13, 2020
That's the kid I thought would break out after re-open. His best position is AMC, as his half turn ability is very rare for an american attacker, that make him receive the ball well in the tight area or meet high pressure. He always does things like this video shows which is fun to watch. . Version and creativity is there. His weakness is that he doesn't have elite athleticism and elite first touch. So sometimes he use his fake move to get the best advantage to receive the ball, but then a bad touch ruined it. Also, Finishing need to be improved.
Your first @ModeloUSA Starting XI of the #MLSisBack tournament ❗️#LAvPOR— LA Galaxy (@LAGalaxy) July 14, 2020
Lemoine ended with a decent look from distance but took too many touches and his shot was blocked. He also won a couple of fouls. Jeremy Ebobisse and Eryk Williamson start for Portland against the Galaxy at 10:30 eastern on FS1 and TUDN. Marco Farfan and Zac McGraw are on the bench.
Kljestan, Kitchen, Lletget is a slow as molasses cm. The first 2 just suck at this point. Could see them not winning the ball or getting trapped deep if there's any pressure. Hopefully Dunbar can get some service up higher. Williamson could dominate them. This is a great opportunity for him. They're few and far between if you're a domestic w/ PDX.
Really looking forward to this one. I’m surprised to see Dunbar starting as well. The young guys that haven’t started that we thought should have haven’t looked as good (eg. Busio Berhalter, Morris(Crew). Some guys come back from the break better than others, but the rust should be off by the 3rd game of the group stage.
Williamson played well, had some nifty turns and progressive play while using that athleticism to get into passing lanes. Thought Dunbar did fairly well, all things considered. How many attackers get their first top flight minutes in a start? Can’t be that many. Looked to be fast and more importantly, didn’t lose speed whilst carrying the ball.
I think Dunbar was very good. Most of the better LA chances were created by him including the PK and another PK that should have been given. The kid is using his speed to get space and make a pass, and not just running toward endline looking for a corner after a blocked cross.
Does he have a good chance at extended minutes throughout the season replacing Katai? If I recall, Araujo got early mins last year too before getting relegated to bench duties
