We may have just witnessed the greatest argument for relegation in MLS history.

If they had a band that slapped like the one in Mos Eisley, I'd let them stay.

I hosted a Zoom watch party among my nearest and dearest for tonight's match and good lord did it feel good to watch soccer with friends again.

I haven't read this thread yet, but I hope y'all got some enjoyment out of tonight as well.

In the post-game press conference, Caleb Porter said he expects Vito out for a while, but it was too early to know any specific details.

It looked bad like a really bad sprain but I’m guessing it won’t be a season ending thing but might be a 5-6 week type deal

I'm just curious here: does Nagbe ever make a mistake? Does he ever look like he's feeling pressure? Does he ever even look like he's breaking a sweat?

The guy is so quiet, so non-flashy, but he's a rock. No wonder Atlanta didn't want to give him up. Worth every penny.

    Thanks for the update.

Interesting that it was Keita who was subbed in for him. Interesting, and great to see. Nice to have Williams where he belongs: as a sub. And I like Williams.

Really curious if we'll hear any details about Adi, Santos and Valenzuela not being on the bench. Or if Covid absences mean MLS injury reports pretty much won't be happening as they normally would be.

I'm so disappointed in you all. 260 posts in this thread and not a single one mentions CoachBot showing up in sweatpants - with his t-shirt tucked in!!

    And speaking of t-shirts:
    Dear MLS,

Please live up to your reputation as a money--hungry, profit-over-passion league and put that Black Lives Matter t-shirt for sale on your terrible excuse for an eCommerce site. If the price tag is $29.99 or less, I'll buy two (I could be convinced to pay up to $39.99 if a percentage goes to charity). I can't believe that you're throwing away such a blatantly clear opportunity to make a few quick bucks while trying to be the Wokest American Sports League. Why won't you take more of my money?!

    Your obedient servant,
    Chris

1). What a weird look for Porter.

2). I was just telling Tim that we should look to see if those shirts were on the site. What does the white lettering say? Names??

3). I am more excited about these games. Lots of goals does that, I suppose. Against the state rival. These goals are what we wanted (and expected) this season.

4). Markus had two main questions to start off the game: why are they playing (virus-related)/where are they playing? and
Long question about BLM on the shirts. (Much longer discussion on this topic.).

5). A sponsor on the sleeve is pretty neat.

6). DnD creating a separate PBP thread. Well done!

I suppose the rest of my observations are rather positive except you know, a pandemic going on.

    But also - GGGGRRRRRROOOOUUUUCCCHHHHY point!

P.s. - Chris, obedient servant, has been watching Hamilton. C dot Elsey.

    Interesting, perhaps.

I think though that CoachBot has a strict backup hierarchy: Keita behind Vito, Williams behind Jonathan. The former is left footed and Williams is a career right back.

As for the three absentees, my bet is that Caleb is rotating his lineups in the heat. Roster management. Depth means nothing if you dont use it, and last night they played what is, by almost universal acclaim, the worst team in the league and one of the worst ever.

If you need to run your entire A team out there to beat FC Kentucky, then you suck pretty bad.

There was no point having them sit there roating their asses off if you had no intention of playing them. Now if theyre not out there next Thursday then sure, theyre likely dinged up.

But I told the guys I was remotely watching with that I have a hundo says that Valenzuela and Santos start the next game and Adi will replace The Train before 65 minutes.

I was however sorry not to see Cadden last night.

Cadden played the last 10 minutes or so. Looked pedestrian as they say.
Fantastic way to start off the tournament. It looked like the Crew were up for it and FCC hadn’t prepared for the competition. If Stam is worth anything that team will be practicing 3 times a day for the next few days. I just think they lack the talent. Whoever put that team together was in over their head. And the fans wanted the USL guys to stay with the team. What a joke.
Back to Crew I feel bad for wormgoor but the rest of the team looked great. Hard not to when playing against fcc.
