it looks like he never plays for Gallen so yesh that shall be interesting. If he was ever a real NT option, he has def lost ground so might wanna consider MLS or bug his dad for some contacts for 3 Bundesliga at least.

Maybe he should give Ethan Horvath a call and ask about ideas how to kill time while on the bench.

Someone claiming to be his agent says that he has an out in his contract and is currently in LA. I don't think it would make sense for him to sign with either LA team as he would 4th keeper on the roster for both clubs. If he were to sign with Galaxy II there's only one other keeper on a pro deal there, although it might be better to stay in Switzerland.

    He's currently on the bench.

St. Gallen is winning 4-1 and top of the league.

Trying out for San Diego Loyal. Their headcoach is supposedely very interested and they have a water boy position open.

Only 2 appearances in the cup all season, is he eligible for a league medal?

Usually you have to at least play in the league to be eligible.

And that's the bare minimum, in some leagues you need to have at least participated in N games to get one (N = 5 in the EPL, for example).

    So I'd say no.

that seems especially unfair for a goalkeeper

is he just not good enough or looks horrible during training? 2-3 years ago he seemed an option now he's barely top 20 in the pool.

Is he good enough to be an MLS back-up? Or will he try German second division/Belgium/Scandinavia?

I mean he's 23 years old with 0 career progress. Couldn't make it at Hertha nor St Gallen. Seems like Klinsmann jr had a clause that allows him to leave if he's barely used (doesn't play enough min/games).

not sure where he'll go next but will be hard to find a 1st division league would want him as #1 even 2BL. Majority of places would take him as 2nd or 3rd GK, likely.

Might have to drop further, and if he does, so be it. There are a few full-time sides in each RL. An ex-3 Liga side like Energie Cottbus or Rot-Weiss Ahlen looking to bounce straight back that have offloaded higher-wage GKs. The best preparation for being a BL 2 #1 is to be a 3 Liga #1 and being an RL #1 is better prep for that than being a 3 Liga #2, which is lesson that Horvath is learning

honestly both him and Brady Scott made big mistakes. It's already hard to breakthrough GK but expecting to do so in Germany from U19/II level? And neither was that rated at their clubs as other players were ahead and even younger players too.

makes more sense to breakthrough MLS and go from there or go from beginning to smaller league.

it doesn't look good on Klinsmann's resume that he failed to become #1 in Swiss league and was nothing but bench GK.
