FWIW... 1281723313446952962 is not a valid tweet id #Bild, Now saying 2 clubs in for #PremierLeague 🏴 (#Everton #NewcastleUnited) #Schalke04, Weston McKennie. pic.twitter.com/yvU2RCoLq0— The Transfer Exchange Show (@TheTransferEx) July 10, 2020 Interesting transfer link this evening saying we are close to signing 20 year 6ft 1 Turkish centre back, Ozan Kabak. Only joined Schalke 04 on a five-year contract for a fee of €15 million last summer. We have previously been linked with him whilst he played for VFB Stuggart. pic.twitter.com/iQOplnllc7— Lilywhite Rose (@Lilywhite_Rose) July 10, 2020 Liverpool interested in Schalke star Weston McKennie https://t.co/YY2FWYqb7B— LFC MAGNIFICENT 7 (@markminshall1) July 10, 2020
see what good performances and playing your heart out in a return during a pandemic will do for your career Weston about to get paid in the PL
While I was scrolling the Twitter looking for Schalke/Wes rumours I came across this response to MM's recent red card (among some BLM protest retweets and USMNT game retweets - CP and a few others.) This kinda made me chuckle. 😂😂😂 I’m actually dead @MattMiazga3 if you gonna go out on a red knock his ass out 😂😂😂— Weston McKennie (@WMckennie) June 28, 2020
Been two weeks now, I don't think it's likely to be an issue, esp. across leagues. But I do like that Wes clearly twitter-scrolls to check other USMNT results.
the entire concept of Captain pretty much comes from war... but ok. I hope Wes has not ended his career via twitter.
Humor is officially on its last legs, in its death throes, going out with a whimper, not a bang. Because Miazga, and everyone else, will take Weston’s joke seriously.
It's been kind of interesting to watch how these transfer rumors spread. I've got a Google News alert for this stuff, and for the longest time most noteworthy websites were passing along these rumors with caution, with most places only mentioning the three clubs that had been named by reputable sources (Hertha Berlin, Everton, and Newcastle, which were reported by the top German outlets). However, there has been an explosion of updates ever since the CBS Sports report a couple days ago, with lots of websites now mentioning the additional names cited in that report (like Liverpool and Wolves), along with all of the unnamed interest all across Europe that was alluded to in there as well. I don't know a lot about CBS Sports when it comes to transfer rumors, but I'm hoping they're as reliable as others seem to think.
I’m shocked at all the interest. Big Soccer has been telling me how terrible he is pretty consistently this season despite what my own eyes have been seeing.
I don’t remember anyone saying terrible. I remember people saying unlikely he will be wanted by top 20 teams in the world, which isn’t really that controversial. Still not sure I buy Liverpool interest fully but they did get someone like minamino and they could be looking at McKennie as a nice puzzle piece that won’t cost a bajillion.
The Liverpool thing only makes sense if Henderson's injury is actually serious and they don't have the funds or stomach to buy a top tier replacement
also if Wagner talked up McKennie to his pal Klopp. Mckennie might only be depth but he'd be cheap and young enough to eventually play a role though I feel his best chances are with Everton
The Kabak link is the one that is resonating in 04 land. Kabak is one of the best young defenders in the BuLi with the agression, speed, quickness, 1v1 defending, and technical skills necessary to play for one of the top teams in the world. Kabak reportedly has a 45MM release clause in his contract and there are plenty of rumors that big clubs are interested in activating his release. Kabak is one of the young players that our SD said we will keep but 45MM is 45MM. Kabak's(20 yo) likely replacement; We just signed academy-promoted Malick Thiaw (18yo) to a contract til '24, rejecting a 7MM offer from Liverpool. We are not as desperate for cash as many think.
Americans are a soft target for crazy transfer rumors, too, because far too many of our fans have zero idea how the market operates. The English are the second favorite target because of the over-inflated prices of their players. So they'll click on anything with enough 000s.
Tho, TBF, if you think you're losing Kabak for ~40m, passing on 7m so you have a replacement is just good biz. You sell both you're just waving a white flag.
Exactly, that why Bild published the rumor originally in their... (checks notes) German news... (I mean, what your saying is not necessarily incorrect either, but 2 of those 4 "rumors" trace their source directly back to Germany...)
