I don’t understand how it could even be worth it. I can’t even remember a primavera player without professional experience going for over 5 million. I remember Cerri was overhyped in his primavera days and went for something like 10 million, but even then I think he played in Serie B when he was sold.
According to Sportitalia, Roma have reached an agreement with Manchester United to buy Chris Smalling for €20m, spread out over several years.3M loan plus 17M paid over 3 years.
Finally some good news. I like Smalling, and that's a fair price for him. I think the question is how much annually will we pay him? We already have a high payroll of veteran players.
Yeah I feel you, I wouldn’t sell either. If you’re looking to sell for a profit at least call him up and let him play
I think we can do better than Smalling to be quite honest. I mean, he isnt awful, but there's most defintely better and cheaper out there.
Even if this were true () there’s at least 8 other spots on this team in much more need of upgrading. 20 million for a guaranteed starter at this point is too good to pass up. Anyone else we buy would be a risk.
Smalling & Dragovic would be a partnership that could go somewhere while moving Mancini back to rotation for now. He's a summer bargain for someone shrewd enough as his contract is ending in 2021. He was linked to Atalanta the last couple of years. I wouldn't be surprised if they move for him now as they make smart decisions while moving a few on every year. Smalling has been good overall. A beast in the first half of the year and decent/average after winter break but its essential if Roma is to have a serious chance then we need a mature player beside Smalling in the season ahead. For the experience and quality, it would be hard to find a better name on the market for the price this summer than Dragovic. I think Mancini being trust into the starting spot was a step to far for him coming from a rotation player at Atalanta. Ibanez/Cetin could play for the 4th center back. Jimmy leaving and a re-balance the midfield is still number 1 priorities this summer. It only takes a couple of players in the right positions, in our case center backs and center midfield to fix the core and turn a team of stragglers into a serious team. We seen what one key player in Bruno Fernandes did for unites team play. The right one or two players can turn a team and leave fans wondering why the other players looked like shit a few games ago. My call would be to Move Zaniolo central and make him the player. Bring back Radja Bring in Dragovic Secure Smalling. Fix the team first, figure the out transfers after even if theres a few would spring to mind instantly.
Pastore Fazio Perotti Juan Jesus Florenzi Getting these salaries off our books is a must this summer.
He will not sign a renewal and that PoS Raiola is his agent so if we can get 5 mil for him we should do it.
Schick linked with Milan. They have almost as many castaways as we do, so I assume it will be a swap for one of them.
I've been seeing a lot of stories about possibly selling Lopez. What are peoples thoughts on this? I think he's been ok - not great, not bad - but the last thing I want to to be hunting for a GK again
I'm assuming he will be one of the sacrifices as theres been reported good offers for him. Theres some decent young keepers in the league we could go for. Hes good although his decision making on kickouts have been erratic. His biggest pev for me but that's not a lot to complain about overall.

Lopez haa been worse than expected with his feet but much better than expected as far as shot stopping. I think he's a very good keeper overall and I would want minimum $50 million for him. Chelsea paid $80 mil for kepa, they can give us $50 mil for Pau. Hopefully we can keep hold of him though.
We only have a few players whose value isn’t in the dumpster right now, and Lopez is one of them. Although I’d like to keep him, he’d probably be the easiest to move on from if a good offer came.
Sort of my feeling on Lopez. He's been good but nothing spectacular so if we get a decent offer, go for it.
