During The MLS broadcast this morning, Taylor Twellman mentioned that Celtic among other clubs were seriously scouting him. Twellman is usually pretty reliable with this kind of thing
mckenzie looks pretty good to me. a couple of very nice reads and steps in his first match vs nycfc. he is starting to enter into his most pivotal development years as a cb. hope he finds a landing spot with a reputation for developing defenders and relative stability in the manager/technical staff
MLS says the Bronx, however, and I'd believe them more than ESPN. My guess is ESPN screwed up with some other Mark McKenzie (looks like there's a Scottish player born in 2000).
When did Yanks Abroad Academy forum become a rumors thread for players who's already a professional 1st Division Starter.
Yanks Abroad Academy YA Coaches, Youth Players (and those not playing competitively for a first division second tier league (Holland, Scotland, Norway, etc.) or 2nd division first tier league (England, Spain, etc.)), Rumors (supported news/rumors about potential new YAs with link), History, and Alumni, and more! Been like this since the forum was created.
So has Ian Harkes, and he's still slumming it in this forum for another couple of months. With how many shoddy rumors there are, I'm glad they're shuttered away here.
Just sayin' If someone is a youth player and no first team minutes put rumors in Academy If someone has first team minutes and transfers then its a Yank abroad, not academy nor youth. Put rumors in the MLS side of things because rumors aren't transfers. Rumors are a dime adozen and mean nothing. When its official they come over to Yanks abroad. If every rumor came over here it would be untenable.
It is what it is. Rumors are in this forum. I guess going to Celtic would be cool since he would potentially get European football otherwise I don’t care that much about players going to Celtic since day in day out not sure it’s any better.
If there was a rumor of someone coming from mighty Taitian league to even mightier Swedish league that rumor would belong to the principal Yanks Abroad forum. But our MNT players belong here where they would be coached by Jesse and Bob.
And look where that got us....2 MLS first team players that play in the US, not abroad. Both over 20 1st division adult full roster spots in a youth academy forum for youth players that play abroad...abroad. They play domestc not abroad. (channeling my inner Alan Iverson) Domestic Not abroad. It's domestic... Why don't we put every MLS 1st team 1st Division American player's rumors in the youth abroad academy? See the disconnect? Leave them in MLS rumors player movement because most aren't true and don't happen.

If McKenzie is looking to make the jump abroad I hope other teams show interest besides Celtic. Who would Philly use to replace him if he was sold? They have Colin whose well past his prime, even for a CB. Then they have a Slovakian whose bounced around at CB, DM, and RB. If I’m Philly the offer would need to be quite high.
