I've been to six games, one on the road. I pay my own way, thanks. This isn't the first time you've tried to lie about my attendance. I bet you do, since Gressel ain't there, lol. Give it to your BFF Miley Cyrus Well, since it's gonna happen... 1) Would have been nice to see a knockout bracket along with the GS matches. That can already be drawn up and the blanks filled in as they go, as with a World Cup bracket. EDIT: there is a bracket of sorts, but MLS didn't state who'd go where ("C Winner" to this spot "E second place" to that spot, yada). That could and should already have been done. 2) They could have taken one of the teams from A and put them in either C or E. I see they're trying to create a rivalry between Miami and Orlando. That probably won't work out too well, either, as Miami looks the better side atm. 3) If we can get some production out of what's left of our offense, we can at least get out of the group. I say "can" instead of "will" because Columbus has Nagbe now. Hoping he doesn't do to us what he used to do for us. We should be fine in back- Miles and Bello are healthy, and that hasn't been the case dating back to 2019. No Josef, and Tito's gone- Time for Jahn to make a name for himself... 4) Releasing info about the "safety" protocols is a waste of time. These are professional medical experts, and I have no reason to think they're not doing everything possible to make the matches as safe as they can make them. Problem is, the tournament is in and of itself an unnecessary health risk. It's like going bear hunting when the freezer is full of meat already. We're not starving- we just wanna hunt.
It's difficult to get excited about not-soccer for this many months in a row. There has been some discussion over in the MLS is Back Tourney thread, but that's also been slow.
"Present." Yeah, I've simply been occupying myself with other things; Trying to keep kids entertained, trying to stay in shape, watching Arsenal matches, venting about Arsenal matches... Plus I've also been active on other boards that have gone much deeper into the days social and political turmoils, which to say the least have been active. But fear not! There will be a match thread for Atlanta next week and we'll have bona fide AUFC things to discuss. Things should pick up then.
Well I hope your political boards aren't here, where things seem pretty focused. Looks like we have a full squad minus JM7. The two guys that tested positive are back. Looking forward to a game thread after 4 months.
Have we heard anything on Josef's injury? What's his prospective return date? The long holiday was actually kind of a blessing on that front. If we can put together a strategy without him that forces teams to adjust, I still think we can win more than we lose. And if he's back before the season ends, then the games-with-Josef will be of much more statistical significance.
Can't say I've heard anything. I'm not expecting to see him this year, tho. I do wish someone was doing an online gametracker of this tournament, since it's happening. I gave up cable last year and there's no way on Earth I'm about to go to a bar to watch. So for me, it's really just checking the scores of the games. Po'lando City beat Beckham's team and Philly beat NYC on what I assume was a full-sized pitch... lol
At least check he's doing simple drills on his own and is considered on or ahead of schedule, but it's unlikely he would appear before, say, the playoffs. If there are any to be had. While it's possible that might happen I would wager the club and player might say it's arguably not worth the risk bringing him back for what is otherwise a write-off season. Don't get me wrong, a trophy is a trophy but everyone knows this year's winner will likely carry an asterisk.
Are these games on ESPN+? At least just the games that are broadcast on ESPN networks? The wife is trying to talk me into the Disney+ deal, and with ESPN3 going to a model where you have to have cable to watch anything, I'm thinking about it. I was going to wait until a decision was made on college football season, but the ability to watch MLS legally (not that I would ever pirate a stream off the internet, promise!) would give weight to her side of the argument.
Has anyone else here entertained the idea that if this continues on into the winter (which is pretty likely, IMO), there's a fair chance that some managers may not want to come to the US out of concerns for their safety? We may end up rolling with Glass thru 2021.

Well that sucks. We can hope a retest suggests it may have been a false positive but in the interim it's right to keep folks safe. Hopefully it's not a critical player for this home stretch.
