I felt terrible for that kid, it looked like he hadn't touched a ball in 3 months. He lost the ball 2-3 times in very bad spots through ham-footed touches that could have cost them the 3 points.

Don't suppose anyone is watching this game? I'm not, but it appears Werner has put Leipzig up 1-0 at the half, and Adams is playing as a defensive mid again.
Finished 2-1 Leipzig. Werner got both goals. Leipzig finish the season 3rd in the table and qualify for the Champions League (though the latter was hardly in doubt coming into today). Adams finishes the season with 10 starts and 14 appearances in the Bundesliga, and 1 substitute appearance in the Champions League. He's essentially appeared in every game he's been available for (not counting his first appearance on the bench after returning from injury). 8 of those 15 appearances were at DM. 7 of those 15 appearances were at RB/RWB.
3 long diagonals dropped in perfectly to his teammate. Unless he fudged up about 5 others not shown there, I will never understand Egg's demand that Bradley/Trapp/Yeuill sit behind him to do the same thing except worse.
Rasenballsport appear set to sign Hwang from their sister club in Austria as a replacement for Werner https://www.skysportaustria.at/rb-leipzig-kurz-vor-verpflichtung-von-salzburg-stuermer-hwang/
Raphael Honigstein interviewed Tyler Adams for the Athletic. Black Lives Matter and the political situation in the United States: Playing on the right: Nagelsmann's trainings: https://theathletic.com/1914285/202...bundesliga-champions-league-usmnt-nagelsmann/
nothing ever changes in America. I wonder if Black athletes in the UK, France, Belgium are wondering their allegiance on representing their country
Calling it now - Tyler will be manage the Red Bulls in 2035 and be USMNT manager at some point. The dude played with Henry and is getting coached by Jesse and Nagelsmann? Only logical next step is to go wherever Klopp/Guardiola are.
i’m supportive of BLM but it’s not right to say that nothing changes. Sometimes it gets stuck or even moves backwards a bit but progress then lurches forward.
I'll note that I posted that quote first because that's how Honigstein frames the article - he starts with a discussion on BLM, and then switches over to his club situation. They actually cover a lot of ground on these topics that I didn't even mention in my quotes, since I'm honoring the paywall.
If players didn't play for countries that have endemic racism, there would not be a world cup or any national teams. It's good to hear the dialogue, but it's also largely a topic because everyone is at home looking for something to provide meaning. I support it all, but let's keep some perspective.
With COVID making people wary of bringing physical objects home, physical objects like newspapers and magazines, paywalls are starting to appear everywhere. The Athletic was a pioneer though.
People kinda stopped buying periodicals in physical form a while ago, I doubt it has to do with COVID. You can still buy them but the paper subscriptions hardly cover printing & postage. Surprised at how successful The Athletic has been in poaching big-name writers in the UK, though.
If you're at the bottom rung, moving up a step c sn be slightly better but it's still the bottom. progress moves too F-ing slow
maybe that's what is ultimately needed. I think that's true but also because folks in power are afraid of actual systematic change.
