lol what a joke rumour... we've made an official offer... if Friedkin takes over... but no offer if the ownership doesn't change... but it's official... Roma asked me to speak to Cavani's intermediaries... but i'm speaking to the media in Uruguay first...
Huh, its pretty straightforward. As a free agent, they made an offer to his agent, his brother on that condition to consider. As I assumed when this first broke, its relies on the ownership changing but they got the current management to get an offer in now. He'll be dealing with potentially hundreds of offers. Mandzukic is also a free agent. He is a very effectual player with a winning attitude. He would help our bunch of wimps.
Friedkin isn’t allowed to sign players for Roma lol. Roma continue to deny Cavani offer https://t.co/Y2PQcxU41p— RomaPress (@ASRomaPress) July 5, 2020
I never said he was. An offer on a free contract is just that. Its not set in stone and can be called off at anytime. The scenario layed out here is entirely plausible given the negotiation for the club could drag for a number of weeks but a player of Cavani's caliber doesn't end up on the free transfer list that regularly. Whether its true or not, I dont know. and of course the club have to deny it but dont be so naive to think such things take place. You know, Jimmy has always been one to tell the truth in the press eh

Not to mention everyone would have to listen to him blame everyone but himself week after week when things don't go right.
#EmersonPalmieri has handed in a transfer request to #Chelsea. The left-fullback wants to return to Italy to keep his spot in the #Azzurri #EURO2021 squad. Marina Granovskaia wants €25M. Talks ongoing between #Inter&Emerson’s agents who is also liked by #Juve coach #Sarri. #CFC— Nicolò Schira (@NicoSchira) July 8, 2020 We should bring him back.
If we weren’t already locked into Kolarovs and Spinazola’s salary I’d say go for it but that’s the sad reality.
Emerson will be a monster under Conte. It’s too bad we are completely broke right now. There’s a number of really good deals out there we can’t take advantage of at all.
#TMdatabase #transfermarkt pic.twitter.com/BQ34Ot41W1— Transfermarkt.it (@TMit_news) July 3, 2020 Nainggolan has the most goals from outside the box this season, but we got rid of him and kept that giraffe Gagliardini who can’t score them from 2 meters out.Bring. Yup, or Hateboer or Castagne. Then in a few years he’ll claim to be an expert on the players. dudes talking about Emerson who can’t even get minutes over Marcos Alonso vs 3 of the best wingbacks in Italy who all play for Atalanta. And they own Reca who’s doing good at SPAL too.
That's the great thing about football. Team building is not always a solely linear approach. As messy as this squad is right now, a quick clearout is possible even taking a lose and there are cheap quality players on the market. The new unknown Gosens playing in Belgium or Holland etc and you can build a team for a handful of million that's allowed to grow without bring sold to balance books every year. Even with new owners, I'd like to finally see more of an approach like this with one or two exceptions to add a bit of bite to the squad. Nianggolan, Cavani type attempted signings. Quality veterans to add balance. What I want and what will happen are two different things though. Another year of going around in circles awaits if Jimmy is still here.
This is basically what Sabatini was great at, I think of all the quality players we got with him for 10-15 mill euros (Pjanic, Naingollan, Emerson, Gervinho, Manolas, Allison, Marquinhos, Rudiger...)
Meanwhile Mongo spends 11m on Olsen, and Petrongo spends 10m on Ibanez... The more I think about it, Mongo and EDF should literally be in jail for buying Pastore for 26m and playing him as a mezzala.
It's a joke, I was blind to it honestly at the beginning but with some distance now it's so plainly obvious Roma went down the toilet once Sabatini left (thanks Jimmy) When Sabatini was here, even if we sold a big player (and it happened a lot) I always felt like he'd pull quality players out of his ass the next season, he was a magician We literally had one of the best midfields in Europe with DDR, Pjanic, Naingollan and Strootman (and for a little while a player I loved, Seydou Keita). Even in the champions league against big clubs you knew they could hold their own and we were fighting for Champions league spots in a much better league when Napoli and Juve were at a similar level
Walter is really good at what he does, no mistake. I dont necessarily think the change at that time was wrong to go on another level. Its just painfully obvious we didnt get the right guy and went backwards. Now we need a Walter to get us back to that level. lol Roma He could find some great South Americans even if he wasn't so keen on getting them from around the European leagues as much. Still he would be a major upgrade if he could be brought back. I cant be too harsh on Ibanez yet given his age and lack of games. Theres talent there to have reached this level already. It could be a case of nerves and then coming into an under performing side.
Imagine Sabatini with the warchest that Mongo was given. Especially now with covid prices. We would have an entire new team in a week.
I get what you mean but COVID prices and us having anything remotely resembling a warchest are mutually exclusive. Your scenario only makes sense in a world where every other club is hit by COVID while we are not.
Half of the Italy and some clubs abroad want Calafiori and are pushing hard for him... What's going on here, can we not renew him and have him be the heir to Kolarov? If we lose Luca Pellegrini and Calafiori in back to back summers that would be terrible.
