10K new cases in Florida over the last 24 hour stretch. Why are we holding this tournament down there? In regards to the Twitter watching question, I've watched games on my laptop with no issues.
Armchair Analyst: MLS is Back Tournament contenders ranked by tier July 2, 2020 10:15AM EDT Matthew Doyle Revs in the 2nd tier (Contenders), with 7 other teams.
For those of us that care not only about the sport, but the athletes playing it, this is a scary read.
I give the NHL credit, they saw what was happening and went north. Going to a hip spot like Vegas, no a hick spot!! It's still not a guarantee, but you need to play the numbers game the best you can for everybody's sake. And when the teams bring it with them......
I'm really not feeling this tournament right now. I appreciate MLS players' and FOs' desire to get back to normal, but it seems like an increasingly bad idea, at least right now and in Florida. I'm all for delaying it and ideally moving it someplace less contagious at this point, ideally Canada.
FCD vs Vancouver match for later this week has already been postponed. Nashville vs Chicago likely to be postponed. Why are we having this tournament in Florida again?
Best guess: Nowhere else has the facilities they think they need. Follow up: Maybe it would have made more sense to just restart the season and play in empty stadiums?
The location, at least so far, seems irrelevant, as all the people that have tested positive brought it with them.

At the end of the day, when they scheduled this thing, Florida was not nearly in the situation it is in now with regards to the disease case numbers. I still think they can create a successful bubble within Disney World - which is kind of like a prosperous isolated nation state trapped in the middle of a run down third world country - but they are running a serious risk. I want them to play, and it seems like they are committed to it, but I would fault no one if they decided to shutter it at this point.
How MLS is Back Tournament broadcasts will deliver unique viewing experience July 7, 2020 9:42AM EDT Charles Boehm This should be interesting. I watched the opener of the NWSL tourney, which had the fake crowd noise, and I didn't even notice it until about 30 minutes into the game, so it didn't bother me at all. I've seen pre-season games with no crowd noise, so I guess it will be like that.

DC-Toronto postponed - https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2020/07/12/mls-postpones-toronto-fc-vs-dc-united-match-be-rescheduled
This is the sweatiest tournament I've ever witnessed. It's like the World Cup in Qatar with the air conditioning turned off.
So does anyone want to start taking odds on if we actually play DC on Thursday? I really enjoyed watching us play this past Thursday night like way beyond having English and other other Euro leagues back but the unselfish part of me is really questioning if this is worth it..
