We have to tolerate 2+2=5 because we think it is wrong to attack 2+2=4.

And we cannot say 2+2=4 because we think it is wrong to say 2+2=5.

    Makes sense.

I find it hard to believe.

    Trump went to a movie?
In a theater? With the public?

He wore a mask and sat in the roped off balcony. Do movie theaters still have balconies nowadays?

Tomorrow, SCOTUS will announce decisions on both of Trump's tax return cases.

I am legitimately nervous that they will let him get away with actual crimes.

To be clear, these should be unanimous, 9-0 decisions against Trump. There is zero justification for him withholding his tax returns from New York or Congress.

As I understand it, and it's a distinct possibility that I don't at all, case law on this is long-settled. Open and shut. Taking the case to the Supreme Court is nothing but a time-wasting strategy. So I don't think the administration will win the case. But it will demonstrate which justices are purely partisan hacks with no legal or moral barometer whatsoever.

My oldest (10 going on 27) is currently in this existential “what does it all mean?” phase with us being isolated more than the typical family. I can’t stay up until 3am every night helping her decipher the meaning of life in the age of corona every night. The kiddie version of this (Benadryl and melatonin) has restored some of our household sanity.

Being stuck away from home for almost 4 months I was having constant sleeping issues.

In particular i'd wake up at 4 am with my heart hammering and couldn't get back to sleep

My resting heartrate has dropped back in to the 40s all 3 days i have been at home - sometimes it was in the 60s while i was sleeping in NZ

It's kind of soothing to know I'm not alone on this.

We should just dose tap water with Xanax or CBDs like they do with flouride.

Clint Lorance orders his troops to take pot shots at little girls and gets pardon. Vindman testifies under oath about abuse of power and gets pushed out. This country is gonna be unrecognizable if we get four more years of this.

And then we have alleged progressives who don't know if they can vote for Biden if his VP doesnt meet their standards. I can't even .... the worst VP Biden could ever pick would be 100000% better than Trump for a progressive voter. Maybe more.

To all you insomniacs - at the risk of sounding preachy, you need exercise! Sustained, strenuous exercise. Go for a run. At least 30 minutes of constant running but preferably right up to the point you wanna yak. Nice glass of wine in the evening afterwards, and you'll be sleeping like newborns.

I agree with this philosophy and follow it except for the part about "right up to you wanna yak." And the wine part, since I'm a beer drinker. But yes, most evenings of the week, I do a few miles on the treadmill, have a beer afterwards (which I justify to myself by remembering that it's got water and carbs and a little bit of protein), and I sleep like the dead.

The yakking part is hyperbole. Although perhaps necessary as a crash course to get our resident insomniacs some Zs.

This is beyond messed up, basically Trump pushed the CIA to give the Taliban maps of our troops actions.

No, I have not. I also tend to suffer from an arrogant attitude that what works from me must naturally work for everyone else. :) Ever since my kid was born almost 11 years ago I can fall asleep at the drop of the hat anytime, anywhere. Between the kid, work, cooking, and a pretty gnarly exercise regiment I can barely keep my eyes open by the end of the day.

I wish that really helped....I alternate between biking 20 miles or or walk/hike 1 hr and this basically 6 days a week. I go to sleep at 10 PM and by 3 am, I am wide awake... ....

As someone whose sleeping quarters was at the end of the runway I became immune to the B-52's and KC-135's disturbing my siesta every time they scrambled when there was an alert. Thankfully those alerts occurred only 3 or 4 times a week! :(

Yikes! I say more wine. Of course, there's a reason (actually, many reasons) I'm not a doctor. You need, at the very least, seven hours of sleep. You can't cheat nature.
