Basically for events and concerts to cut cost on having to replace the pitch. We're making bold moves. It was. no point in building something for mass events without knowing when they'll even be mass events again.
I hope we can finish the league before the last 2 games of season so Jovic can get some proper game time
Even when there are mass events allowed, they will be done by certain levels scaling upwards and downwards depending on the situation. Nobody is going to book the Santiago Bernabeu for a 500-1000 people event. We're slowly enterign "events of up to 100 people with adequate spacing and ventilation" in Europe, so thinking about a 10.000 people stadium tour happening any time soon is pointless. I think most clubs and event agencies are looking at most of 2021 being a year of limited possibilities.

No mask. Ugh, is uncle Flo trying to allow the club to inherit his estate to save it from financial ruin and see his stadium project come to fruition posthumously OR is this his plan to eliminate the old guard and indirectly remove them from the squad.
A theory I was toying with: when the league became a Champions League, Madrid went and won it.— Sid Lowe (@sidlowe) July 5, 2020 Interesting theory. It suggests that upon return of the league after the lockdown, Madrid have treated the final 11 games with the seriousness of Champions League knockout games. Perhaps, we may not have done so without the pause in action.
I didn't like our chances before the break. That defeat against Betis was a back breaker. Morale was low.
Sid’s great to read and listen to. If anyone has any other English speaking pundit who’s as good I’d like to hear it because almost every other pundit I’ve come across either has some hidden agenda against us or just isn’t very insightful and regurgitates rubbish rumours. I’d say Sid’s point of view on Spanish football is similar to the general consensus amongst this forum’s regulars (the sensible ones not the ones I’ve on the ignore list lol).
Fascinating, especially considering the midweek match tempo and the late playing times also resemble the European competition more than the League.
I don't know if he does any other work; but recently been tuning into Graham Hunter's commentary on our games and actually quite surprised by how insightful and knowledgable he is about La Liga, tactics, credible rumours etc. A farcry from the likes of Phil Schoen whose views I go out of my way to avoid.
Graham is an interesting one. He used to be one of the Spanish football correspondents for Sky Sports and had always come across as a closet Cule, he was very biased. But he’s different now that he commentates for Premier Sport, a lot more impartial. I think a lot of opinions of pundits are shaped by who they work for and what message their employer want to send to their core customer base. Which is why I don’t take the opinions of people like Steve McManaman seriously.
Graham has his moments were he seems to have a serious thing for Messi. He is usually fair in his commentary during our games and doesn't gripe about the calls we get. He does like to mention the "swashbuckling" nature of our Captain quite a lot though fwiw.
Thanks for the background guys! Funny enough in today’s game they spent a long time making fun of Raul Garcia’s diving which was much appreciated by me
Working for Sky Sports, I always valued Graham’s views more so than Balague. Graham use to live in Barcelona (don’t know if still does?) so he was always regarded as some Cule.
I like neither Sid Lowe or Graham Hunter, when it comes to Madrid, they may be knowledgeable but when I read and listen to them they still come across to me are Messi/ Farca fans, not hardcore but idolizing their football whilst mostly constantly finding fault with ours even when we win As for the league i never thought we were out of it being just 2 points behind the leaders, no matter what, two points is too close to think winning the league was impossible, we are Madrid, it wasn’t like the season before when we were trailing by 10 points early on, and this Farca team just isn’t better than we are, so keeping those factors in mind I always thought we could still win, break or not
I have far more respect for Sid Lowe than Graham Hunter. Graham is a straight up Barca fan there is no two ways about it. He’s been taking shots at Madrid at our players for many years.
Sid is in another league compared to Graham Hunter, Balague, Andy West etc who are heavily biased towards Barca especially after writing books about Pep and Messi. Sid wrote Fear and Loathing in La Liga which is basically about the every era in the league rather than fanboy work on a player or coach.
ESPN FC is probably the most trash “soccer” show in the USA. It’s unbearable. BEIN sports can be pretty bad too I think they’ve gotten slightly better over the years though.
