here's the lineup for the upcoming Cup final in about 15 min. from now. There's a mention that the stream will be played on the Die Erste channel, but havn't found a live stream link as of yet
Pernille Harder with the equalizer. 1:1 after 11 minutes. This a a great game . Abt with a save against Anyomi but Hegering scores after the corner. 2:1 for Essen.
2:1 at HT for Essen. This game is much more interesting than I had expected. Wolfsburg is dominant after the Hegering goal but Essen defends well. I still expect Wolfsburg to win this game. My prediction:3:2 for Wolfsburg.
What` s the matter with Wolfsburg? Feldkamp with the big chance for the 3:1 but she hits the post. Blässe equalize with a distance shot. 2:2 after 70 minutes.
Bloodworth with the 3:2 for Wolfsburg after 85 minutes and just when I wanted to rep Lohmann for his prediction Ioannidou equalizes with a free kick thanks to a bad positioned goalkeeper.
Neto had the best chance of extra time with a shot against the post but now we go to penalties. My prediction: Johannes will save two penalties but Oberdorf will miss the decisive penalty.
Rather dull OT, will go to PK’s these two aren’t thre better Gk’s in the league, but you think WOB got the world class shot takers to win it
Bloodworth 1:0 Schüller 1:1 Neto 2:1 Oberdorf 2:2 Popp missed Ioannidou saved Goeßling 3:2 Brüggemann saved Harder 4:2
Wolfsburg-Essen 3:3aet 4:2 on penalties Harder(11),Blässe(70),Bloodworth(86) - Schüller(1),Hegering(18),Ioannidou(90+1)
Thank you very much. Although I must admit that watching the game while already knowing the score doesn't feel half as enticing... I anyway watched the penalty shootout and it looked like it was as close an affair as the game. In particular, I found impressive that the GKs dove in the correct direction in all of the PKs taken except Goessling's and Harder's. And, even when the player was scoring, the GK used to be very close at saving.
It needed one month for you to forget that Ishikawa was promoted. So you might watch the game in a month.
unfortunately that one shot Essen attempted from the half way line might give Blissett recurring nightmares! But nice to see Essen give ode to the red, white & blue this July 4th by playing some good ole ‘direct’ soccer! Sad to see Essen go; there’s no way they’ll be able to compete again in this level—-unless the rest of the bottom ten get’s it’s top players looted as well! any updates on Anyomi’s injury? That’s why Popp can be a hot mess; there’s was no reason for Popp to go for that challenge/header when it was obvious she was going to loose it. got to say this was Hegering’s best game by far(should of been voted MVP of the match) not just for her goal, but strong defensive performance. I’ve just been picked on her since her horrid play in the WC quarter final. got the feeling Lyon probably shooting up fireworks as well after watching WOB give up an goal in 12 seconds; WOB’s been seemingly getting creamed on the counters every time those two teams met in the CL
Feel like Wolfburg could win the UEFA CL. They are the only ones playing while the rest of the Euro league are not.
Bayern is also playing. If the CL would be now it would be an big advantage for the Bundesliga teams but we have to wait 6 weeks for the CL. I expect OL to be excellently prepared for the Champions League.
