19 Jun Wil - LS 1-1 A late Wil goal has LS drop points. They are still a long ways ahead, but not the best start. GCZ - Aarau 5-0 Not even close. Vaduz - Winterthur 4-1 Nice win. LS the only top 3 team to drop points. 20 Jun SLO-Chiasso - 2-1 Crazy start that saw a goal for each team in the first 4 min. Kriens - Schaffhausen 2-1 It is amazing how far Schaffhausen has fallen in the past few seasons. The massive push for the RSL, now good thing there is Chiasso. LS 53 Vaduz 40 GCZ 40 Kriens 39 SLO 31 Winterthur 31 Wil 29 Aarau 26 Schaffhausen 24 Chiasso 17
Next set of matches 23 Jun Schaffhausen - Chiasso Winterthur - GCZ Aarau - Wil LS - Vaduz - This match will really determine if anyone can catch LS 24 Jun Kriens - SLO
Here are the matches for live stream for the next two rounds: Schaffhausen/Chiasso Aarau/Wil Lasuanne-Sport/Vaduz Kriens/Lausanne-Ouchy Chiasso/Aarau Wil/Winterthur Lausanne-Ouchy/Schaffhausen Vaduz/Kriens A couple of things about the streams: The quality is available up to 1080p and is pretty damn good. The streams for Wil/LS and Vaduz/Winterthur from this past round were more "produced" with multiple camera angles and replays. The SLO/Chiasso and Kriens/Schaffhausen matches were the normal single camera-no replays streams that we normally get from BCL streams. I think we're going to see a mix of the streams depending on the RSL schedule since it looks like whoever produces the RSL matches is also producing these select BCL matches, so they're not just single midfield camera. I'm just so glad that we get these streams and I don't have to seek out pirated streams.

What a crazy set of matches for LS. Their 15 point lead is down to 5 points! 4 July Chiasso - Schaffhausen Wil - Kriens An article in French about how bad Chiasso has been.
The Vaduz match was the biggest punch in the gut I've experienced since they were in the Super League and lost in the last seconds to Basel. When they conceded the winner I thought I was going to puke. The chance of finishing second is still possible, but this really, really hurt.
Soccer America Daily Covid-19: Completion of Swiss Super League threatened FC Zurich's matches against Sion and Basel were postponed after players and staff had to quarantine
FCZ had nine players and staff test positive. GCZ had one, but it looks like he hasn't had contact with anyone, so they may be able to resume playing if everyone on the team tests negative. Not sure when they're going to make these games up because the schedule is already packed so tight as it is. I just hope, more than anything that everyone comes out of this safe and healthy.
Huge win for Vaduz yesterday over LS. Although is looks like LS is far enough ahead to win promotion, Vaduz and GCZ are separated by only one point. LS 67 GCZ 59* (one match in hand) Vaduz 58 Kriens 50 WInterthur 46 Wil 42 SLO 41 Aarau 37 Schaffhausen 31 Chiasso 19
Final matches for the top 3: LS - vs Winterthur, at Lausanne-Ouchy, vs Wil GCZ - at Kriens, at Wil, at Aarau, vs Winterthur Vaduz - at Chiasso, vs Schaffhausen, at Kriens Magic number for LS to clinch the league and promotion is 5. Any combination of points earned and points dropped by the below teams totaling 5 will send LS back to the Super League. The Barrage looks likely to come down to its final day. Vaduz need to win out, and GCZ can afford to drop points in at least one of their matches. I have my fingers and toes crossed, but it's a long shot at this point. Here's the hardest part about Vaduz this year: In their first 8 matches, they earned 6 points. In the subsequent 25 matches since then, they've earned 52 points, just over 2 points a game. No one in that 25 game stretch earned as many points. To think what could've been with a better start.
24 July Kriens - GCZ 4-4 - GCZ was up 0-3 within the first 16'. Schaffhausen - SLO 2-2 LS - WInterthur 1-2 - Is seems that LS simply does not want to win the title, or has forgotten how to win since the pause. Wil - Aarau 3-1 25 July Chiasso - Vaduz With a win over Chiasso, Vaduz would move up into 2nd place.
Vaduz with the win moves up into the playoff spot. 27 July Wil - GCZ - This is the match in hand that GCZ has. 30 July Aarau - GCZ SLO-LS Vaduz - Schaffhausen Wil - Chiasso Winterthur - Kriens
Congrats to LS and Vaduz with a great post Covid19 series of matches. GCZ will spend another season in the DCL. Chiasso wins on the last day. Early predictions to move up would be GCZ, Xamax (but I think it will take a season or two) and either Sion/Vaduz. I think that Thun, if they are relegated, will take a few seasons to be promoted again. Chiasso, SLO or Schaffhausen would be the favorites to be relegated. Chiasso has to go down one of these seasons, don't they?
HOPP VADUZ!!! Over the moon!! I can't tell you how awesome it was to see this group end up in the Barrage!! It will be a hell of a fight against Thun, but this team has done something really special this year. If it doesn't end up in promotion, I will be a bit sad, but considering how worried I was at the start of this season that they were struggling, this was a massive achievement. I hope Mario Frick sticks around for a while and helps build this team into something special for years to come. It's still unreal that Vaduz are in the Barrage!! HOPP MAGISCH VADUZ FUR IMMER!!
Frick has done a really good job. I think that Vaduz would have had a better chance vs Sion than Thun. Nothing can be a crazy as Xamax coming back from 4 goals down vs Aarau to maintain their position in the RSL. I am looking forward to the matches.
Speaking of next season, it would not surprise me if we see major shifts in both leagues. The Super League owners admitted that they can't keep playing games with crowds of 1,000 spectators. There are concerns of bankruptcies all over the place in both leagues if more spectators aren't allowed to attend matches because revenues are heavily dependent on gate receipts. As much as television drives modern football, it's still leagues like in Switzerland that rely heavily on fans in the stands.
Vaduz wins 2-0 at home. The match in Thun should be fascinating. Thun has been amazing at home since the restart. @KensingtonSC you are correct leagues like the RSL depend so much on gate receipts. I think they will need to raise it to at least double that. A stadium of 10k should be able to have 2500 in it.
VADUZ ARE IN THE SUPER LEAGUE!!!!!!!! VADUZ ARE IN THE SUPER LEAGUE!!!!!!!! VADUZ ARE IN THE SUPER LEAGUE!!!!!!!!
What a crazy match! Congrats to Vaduz. What an interesting twist on things is that Thun was opposed to the plan of a 12 team league and no relegation. I foresee a long stay in the BCL for Thun. They were struggling to get by, and I assume most of their players will leave. Beautiful stadium and great location. One of my favorite stadium in Switzerland. The Stockhorn is awesome.
Someone on Twitter said that when FCZ and GCZ went down, it was sort of farcical, but Thun going down kinda stings. They're a well run club. Not rich, but they punch above their weight, going to the Europa League the last few years, and even making a push for the top two last year. It's actually kinda sad. This means that the chase for the Super League will now feature Xamax, GCZ, and Thun, so one of those will be staying in the Challenge League for an additional season. Still not sure what finances will be like next year, but it should be a very exciting league next year.
