Saw the Fernando news after my post, so it might be the case. I imagine there might still be a period of time allowed for him to settle and not become a wildcard in the whole MLS-Orlando bubble. I'm trying not to get my hopes up to high but it sounds like he should prove quite the engine in the midfield we've been asking for since Miguel left. If he can gel with Hyndman that would be great.
Damm doesn't appear to play that creative role that Pity often plays. I see Damm as more of a Gressel replacement, but not a 1-for-1. We're trading in a Chevy Tahoe for a Hayabusa. The Tahoe was really useful, good at lots of things, but not the best at any particular thing except a willingness to work. The Hayabusa won't carry a load and isn't very versatile, but it will get you where you want to go very fast. As long as he's not an absolute liability defensively, I like the purchase. Even if his touch is pedestrian or downright bad, if his passes are predictable, if he can't shoot worth a flip, his speed will be useful. Once he's behind a defender, the rest of the defense is required to pull out of shape to recover. If Josef is 1v1 or wide open, then even mediocre service will create goals. And Pity and Barco can clean up the mess once the defense is discombobulated.
